Out for season with torn ACL
Acuna will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn right ACL during Saturday's game against Miami.
Impact
The injury initially appeared to be on the serious side, with the star outfielder needing to be carted off the field in pain after landing awkwardly while jumping for a fly ball. Atlanta was holding out hope that his MRI would reveal a less serious issue, but this diagnosis, unfortunately, represents a worst-case scenario for the 23-year-old. Acuna will be sidelined for the remainder of 2021 after undergoing surgery, and it remains to be seen if he'll be ready to participate in spring training come next February.

Impact
Acuna appeared to be in a lot of pain as he was carted off, but the club is still holding out hope that the injury isn't as serious as it initially appeared. Atlanta is hoping to have an update on the outfielder Sunday morning, and he can be considered a near-sure bet to miss Sunday's series finale.

Impact
Acuna initially tried to walk off under his own power, but he was ultimately carted off after he fell back to the ground. Given the pain the outfielder appeared to be in, it seems very possible that he could have suffered a serious injury. He will be evaluated by the club's medical staff, and Atlanta should provide additional update later Saturday.

Homers in big afternoon
Acuna went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk and three runs scored in Wednesday's 14-3 beatdown of the Pirates.
Impact
The 23-year-old's third-inning blast narrowed Pittsburgh's lead to 3-2, and he later crossed home a couple more times as Atlanta poured on the runs in the later innings. Acuna had hit an uncharacteristic .196 in 13 games leading up to Wednesday but appeared to get back on track in the afternoon blowout. His power has hardly dissipated, though, as he's now launched six homers in his last 17 games.

Homers, drives in three
Acuna went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 8-7 extra-inning win over Miami.
Impact
The star outfielder opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the third inning. In the ninth, Acuna's sacrifice fly plated Ender Inciarte for the game-tying run to force an extra inning. Acuna has homered three times in his last seven games while adding six RBI and seven runs scored in that span. Overall, he's slashing .276/.386/.595 with 23 long balls, 51 RBI, 66 runs scored and 16 stolen bases as Atlanta's leadoff hitter.

Back in lineup Friday
Acuna is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Miami after being scratched Thursday with a tight back.
Impact
Acuna was originally slated to leadoff Thursday against the Mets but was a late scratch. He wound up entering the game off the bench, recording a single and a walk during two plate appearances. The back issue has arisen twice in the past week, but it appears to be something the outfielder is able to work around for the time being. He'll bat leadoff as the right fielder Friday.

Scratched from Thursday's lineup
Acuna was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Mets with back tightness.
Impact
Acuna was originally in the lineup and leading off, though he was scratched just prior to first pitch. It's unclear how long he may be sidelined, but it's notable that he was sidelined with a similar issue within the past week. Ehire Adrianza will hit leadoff and play in right field in his place.

Crushes 21st homer
Acuna went 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Reds.
Impact
Acuna got Atlanta on the board with a third-inning RBI double before he crushed a 432-foot solo blast in the fifth. The 23-year-old star is slashing .282/.389/.602 with 21 homers in 71 games. It was just his fifth homer of the month and his first since June 21.
