Impact Atlanta manager Walt Weiss downplayed the idea of the superstar outfielder returning from the injured list when first eligible May 13, however, "I guess there's a chance, but it's just so hard to say," Weiss said Friday. "He's just now starting to move around and that type of thing. He's got a lot out in front of him still, but like I said, we didn't think it was all that serious when it happened. I think there's a good chance he'll be back sooner than later, but he's still got a lot of boxes he still needs to check." Acuna hasn't played since May 2, and through 34 games this season he's posted a disappointing .252/.362/.378 slash line with two homers and seven steals.

Impact The 28-year-old outfielder was placed on the injured list earlier Sunday after sustaining the injury during Saturday's matchup with the Rockies, but it appears he's avoided a serious injury. Acuna is without an official timeline for his return, but the encouraging diagnosis could mean that his absence isn't a lengthy one.

Impact Acuna was lifted from Saturday's 9-1 win over the Rockies in the second inning due to hamstring tightness, prompting Atlanta to send him in for an MRI following the game. Though Atlanta hasn't announced the results of his imaging, the club quickly determined that Acuna's injury was significant enough to keep him out for at least the next week and a half. Atlanta called up Jose Azocar from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move, but Eli White and Mauricio Dubon are the more likelier candidates to see added reps in the outfield while Acuna is shelved.

Impact Acuna grounded out in the second inning Saturday against Colorado and came up limping after taking off out of the batter's box. He was immediately removed from the game and will now undergo further testing. It certainly didn't have the look of an injury that is going to allow Acuna to play Sunday versus the Rockies. With Michael Harris already battling a quad issue of his own, Atlanta was forced to start Mauricio Dubon in center field Saturday. Eli White replaced Acuna in right field following his injury.
