INJURIES

Outdone in pitcher's duel Sandoval (2-3) took the loss against Seattle on Saturday despite allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.
Impact The bad news is that Sandoval took the loss despite the strong effort. The good news is that he continues to shine as a starter, logging a season-high seven innings and 114 pitches in the contest. The southpaw has allowed three or fewer runs while pitching at least five innings in each of his past eight outings dating back to May 22. Over that span, he has posted a 3.22 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 49:18 K:BB across 44.2 frames. Those numbers make him a viable fantasy asset in nearly all formats.

Surrenders two runs Sunday Sandoval allowed two runs on two hits and five walks while striking out seven over five innings Sunday against the Orioles. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Sandoval was lucky to surrender only two runs after walking a season-high five batters Sunday. Three of his walks came in the first inning but he was able to strike out DJ Stewart to get out of trouble. Both runs against him came in the sixth inning. Austin Hays led off with a single and then Sandoval walked Trey Mancini which put an end to his day. Both runners would end up scoring off the bat of Luis Urias as part of a four-run inning for the Orioles. The 24-year-old owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53:22 K:BB over 49 innings and lines up for a start in Seattle next weekend.

Coughs up three runs Sandoval allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over five innings in Sunday's win over the Rays. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.
Impact Sandoval cruised through four innings without allowing a hit before Brandon Lowe knocked a solo homer off him in the fifth. He was then charged with two runs in the sixth after Mike Mayers gave up a three-run shot to Ji-Man Choi. After totaling just 11.1 innings through his first four outings, the 6-foot-3 southpaw has gone at least five innings in each of his last six appearances. He's sporting a 3.89 ERA and a 46:17 K:BB through 44 innings. Sandoval is projected to face Baltimore at home next week.

Strikes out nine in win Sandoval (2-2) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine in 5.2 innings. He earned the win Saturday versus Detroit.
Impact Sandoval got into a bit of trouble in the sixth inning, and southpaw was pulled with two outs in the frame as Detroit had a sequence of four right-handed hitters due up. He has yet to allow more than two earned runs in a start this season. The southpaw has a 3.69 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB across 39 innings. Tosses quality start in win Sandoval (1-2) got the win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday after allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings.
Impact Sandoval put together his second straight quality start and actually picked up the win as opposed to his last time out. He allowed the Diamondbacks to get on the board in the fourth on an RBI single by Pavin Smith and then was eventually pulled after walking two batters to begin the seventh, one of which would come around to score for his second earned run of the day. His changeup was super effective, as he generated 10 of his 13 whiffs with the offspeed pitch. The 24-year-old now owns a 3.51 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB over 33.1 innings and has a another favorable matchup coming up this week against the Tigers.
