Cody Poteet - Starting Tuesday Poteet will start Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Since Sandy Alcantara is starting for the Marlins in Monday's series opener against Washington, Poteet will get an additional day of rest prior to making his first start of the season Tuesday. Poteet tossed four relief innings against the Diamondbacks last Tuesday and allowed no runs on two hits and a walk while striking out three.

Willy Adames - Not in Monday's lineup Adames (ankle) isn't starting Monday's game against Atlanta, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact Adames sustained a left ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Marlins, but he underwent X-rays that came back negative. However, he'll be held out of the lineup for the first time this season. Luis Urias will shift to shortstop while Jace Peterson starts at third base.

José Devers - Reinstated, optioned to minors The Marlins activated Devers (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Double-A Pensacola, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Devers opened the season on the shelf while he continued to recover from August surgery to address a rotator cuff issue in his right shoulder. His recovery program lingered into the first month of the campaign before he began a rehab assignment at Single-A Jupiter last week. Devers' shoulder apparently responded well to his two games in Jupiter, but since Miami didn't have a spot for him on the big-league roster, he'll play regularly at the Double-A level with the hope of earning a call-up to the majors at some point later on in the season.

Brent Suter - Reinstated from paternity list Suter (personal) was reinstated from the paternity list Monday.

Impact Suter missed the Brewers' weekend series against the Marlins following the birth of his child, but he'll rejoin the club prior to Monday's series opener in Milwaukee against Atlanta. Over five appearances since the start of May, the southpaw has posted a 1.80 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in five innings.

Lewin Díaz - Stint with big club over The Marlins optioned Diaz to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Diaz's stint with the big club lasted just one day, with the 25-year-old going unused off the bench in Sunday's loss to the Brewers. Miami chose to replace Diaz on the 26-man active roster with lefty Daniel Castano, who could be deployed as a long reliever or as a potential replacement in the rotation for Jesus Luzardo (forearm), who was recently placed on the 15-day injured list.

Daniel Castano - Called up from minors The Marlins recalled Castano from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Castano had been on track to Tuesday's game for Jacksonville, so unless he's needed out of the bullpen in the Marlins' series opener with the Nationals on Monday, he would be lined up to fill the void in the big-league rotation for Tuesday's game, which was created by Jesus Luzardo's (forearm) recent placement on the injured list.The Marlins deployed Castano as a one-inning reliever in both of his prior appearances at the big-league level this season, but the lefty stretched out to 5.2 innings in his most recent outing for Jacksonville on May 11. Long reliever Cody Poteet looms as another option to enter the rotation Tuesday if the Marlins elect to go in a different direction.
