Max Williams - Going to Miami
The Marlins have selected Williams with the 78th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Impact
Williams, who won't turn 21 until August, slashed .316/.383/.598 with 19 home runs and a 16.1 percent strikeout rate in 57 games as a junior. His aggressiveness at the plate could get exposed by pro pitching, but Williams has a chance to stick in center field, even though he isn't a burner.

Liam Hicks - Collects trio of hits
Hicks went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Sunday's 11-1 win against the Orioles.
Impact
The 26-year-old rookie started at first base and notched his second game with three or more hits this season -- the first coming at Philadelphia on April 19. Hicks, who was Rule 5 pick this past offseason, continues to garner plenty of looks in a strong-side platoon role with the Marlins. He has been a steady source of offense for the club thanks to a .274/.367/.411 slash line with four homers, 30 RBI and 19 runs scored across 198 total plate appearances in 64 games.

Kyle Stowers - Slugs three homers against O's
Stowers went 5-for-5 with three homers, six RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 11-1 victory over Baltimore.
Impact
The Miami outfielder had a career day against his former club, launching three long balls off Orioles starter Brandon Young. This marks the fourth multi-homer and first five-hit performance of Stowers' career. After this incredible effort, the 27-year-old is now slashing .293/.368/.543 with 19 homers, 54 RBI and 46 runs scored across 346 plate appearance, as he heads to Atlanta to be the Marlins' All-Star representative Tuesday night.

Eury Pérez - Cruises to third win
Perez (3-2) earned the win in Sunday's contest at Baltimore, yielding three hits and no walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.
Impact
The Miami right-hander notched his third consecutive victory, as he dominated the Orioles with 16 whiffs out of his 84 total pitches. The Baltimore lineup never threatened to score a run off Perez, who managed to contain his opponents to just four baserunners -- a double, two singles and a hit-by-pitch. After a shaky 6.19 ERA across his first four starts, Perez has been masterful in his last three appearances with a 0.53 ERA, 0.41 WHIP and 21:1 K:BB across 17 innings.

Brandon Compton - Snagged by Marlins
The Marlins have selected Compton with the 46th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Impact
A left-handed slugger from Arizona State, Compton had a huge year in 2024 and was just OK in 2025, but he helped himself with a very impressive showing at the MLB Draft Combine. Compton had a max exit velocity of 116.9 mph and an average batting practice exit velocity of 110.1 mph, easily leading combine participants in both metrics. A former-two way player, Compton had Tommy John surgery after high school and redshirted his first year at ASU. Strangely, Compton was better with a wood bat in the Cape Cod League in 2024 (.903 OPS, 26:21 K:BB) than he was this spring (.865 OPS, 55:40 K:BB), but his showing on the Cape is undeniably a favorable datapoint. Compton is a bat-first player who might end up a bat-only player, as he's currently limited to left field and figures to lose athleticism in his late-20s, so he'll need to rake at each level of the minors to maintain his prospect value.

Cam Cannarella - Heading to Miami
The Marlins have selected Cannarella with the 43rd overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Impact
He has several plus tools, but Cannarella didn't hit for enough power to close his collegiate career to go in the top half of the first round. A lefty-hitting center fielder from Clemson, Cannarella slashed .353/.479/.530 with five home runs, six steals, a 17.8 percent walk rate and a 14.4 percent strikeout rate in 61 games this spring. Cannarella had labrum surgery in his right (throwing) shoulder in July 2024, and he's not back to 100 percent yet as a thrower or slugger - his 11 homers and .224 ISO the spring before his injury were career bests. Even so, Cannarella could end up a plus hitter, runner and fielder, so he could realistically lead off for a good team in his mid-20s. He isn't a zero in the power department, but he'll probably be capped in the 10-15 homer range at peak, as he's at his best when he's spraying line drives to all fields.

Aiva Arquette - Drafted by Marlins
The Marlins have selected Arquette with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Impact
A 6-foot-5 infielder from Hawaii, Arquette made noise as a sophomore at Washington (.959 OPS) and held his own with a wood bat in the Cape Cod League last summer (.793 OPS) before hitting his way into the top 10 of the draft this year after transferring to Oregon State. Arquette slashed .353/.462/.647 with 18 home runs, seven steals and a 50:39 K:BB in 64 games as a junior while playing all his games at shortstop -- he saw time at third base and second base with Washington and on the Cape. Still, he didn't do his damage in the SEC or ACC and was good, not great (23.9 K%), during his toughest test on the Cape. Arquette's combination of capable defense at a premium position and the ability to hit for average and power stand out in a weak crop of college hitters, but he doesn't have a particularly high fantasy ceiling relative to the typical top college hitter in a class.

Edward Cabrera - Could avoid injured list
Cabrera received encouraging MRI results on his right elbow Sunday and may not require a trip to the injured list, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
The right-hander departed his start against the Orioles on Friday due to posterior right elbow discomfort, but the initial diagnosis of the injury has brought encouraging results. The All-Star break will provide Cabrera with some extra rest, though it remains to be seen if he'll be ready to take the mound immediately to begin the second half of the season.
