Impact Seattle wasn't willing to take on the money remaining on Andriese's one-year, $1.85 million contract after Boston designated him for assignment a few days earlier, but the Mariners brought the veteran reliever aboard on what's presumably a more team-friendly deal once he cleared waivers and became a free agent.
