Impact Gilbert had his way with the Royals, retiring 17 of the first 18 hitters he faced before allowing a double and a single in the sixth to give Kansas City their only run of the day. Sunday was his first win since July 30 despite owning a 2.01 ERA and 0.94 WHIP over four starts in September. The 24-year-old rookie has had some inconsistency this year but has shown enough upside to prove that his future is bright. He now sits at a 4.74 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 120:23 K:BB over 108.1 innings and tentatively lines up for a meeting against the Angels later in the week.
