Impact Hiura has been in the minors since mid-August, and he slashed .150/.274/.280 with three home runs, four doubles, 10 RBI and eight runs across 31 games since his demotion. The 25-year-old has hit .166 across 59 major-league appearances this year and should serve as a depth option heading into the final series of the regular season.

Impact It's been a frustrating year for Hiura, but he's at least now through his two-week COVID-related absence. There doesn't appear to be a role available for him at the major-league level at the moment, but he'll at least now be able to get back into game action in the minors.

Impact He has not appeared in a game since being optioned to Triple-A on July 30. There was no room for him to get playing time on the big-league roster, particularly after the acquisitions of Rowdy Tellez and Eduardo Escobar, so he shouldn't be expected to return to the majors anytime soon.

Impact Hiura didn't have an everyday role in the time since his latest call-up in late June and didn't look great at the plate, striking out 39.4 percent of the time while slashing a passable but unexciting .230/.324/.443. The acquisition of Eduardo Escobar means his role was expected to shrink still further down the stretch, so he'll head to the minors in search of regular at-bats. He has very little to prove at the Triple-A level, however, hitting .347/.434/.691 there in 77 career games.
