Impact The Royals placed Yarbrough on the injured list May 8 after he got hit in the head by a line drive, and they later shifted him to the 60-day IL. He won't be eligible to return until July, but Wednesday's session will be useful in determining next steps for the 31-year-old southpaw.

Impact Isbel resumed running the bases June 2 and will now begin testing his hamstring in a game setting. Isbel figures to return within a week, but it's unclear what role he will play in the Royals' outfield now that Drew Waters is healthy. The 26-year-old outfielder has been out since early May with a left hamstring strain.

Impact Bradley was dropped from the 40-man roster after posting a disappointing .133/.188/.210 slash line with six extra-base hits, six RBI and 10 runs scored over 105 at-bats with the Royals this season. He will now either be claimed by another team, report to Triple-A Omaha or be released outright, the last of which would happen if he goes unclaimed and elects free agency instead of Omaha. The move clears a spot for outfielder Dairon Blanco, who had his contract selected from Triple-A on Monday.

Impact Blanco received a five-game run in the big leagues in 2022 but was moved off Kansas City's 40-man roster last summer. The 30-year-old outfielder earned another look with the Royals after a strong start to the season at Omaha, where he posted a minor-league-leading 47 stolen bases to go with an .895 OPS across 208 plate appearances. While Blanco's speed makes him intriguing if he were to capture a regular role with Kansas City, he's likely to function mostly as a fourth or fifth outfielder during his time in the big leagues and may be in store for sporadic playing time. The Royals designated outfielder Jackie Bradley for assignment to clear room on the roster for Blanco.
