Struggles in season debut
Urias (0-1) allowed six runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks in two innings to take the loss in Sunday's matchup against the Rockies.
Impact
Urias retired two of the first three batters he faced Sunday, but three runs came across in the bottom of the first inning after Chris Taylor committed an error. The southpaw turned things around in the second but was removed from the game after allowing each of the first five batters to reach base in the bottom of the third inning. Urias displayed decreased velocity and failed to record a strikeout, but he said after the game that he feels fine physically, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Reds on Saturday.

Signs for 2022 at $8 million
Urias signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Dodgers on Tuesday to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Urias made $3.6 million in 2021 and received a solid bump in pay for his second-to-last year of arbitration eligibility. The 25-year-old southpaw had a 2.96 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 195:38 K:BB over 185.2 innings last season.

Cuts weight for 2022
Urias said Tuesday that he reported to spring training at 223 pounds, about 20 pounds lighter than he was at the end of the 2021 season, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times re...
Impact
The weight loss doesn't seem to be borne out of a desire for better results, coming off a breakout 2021 campaign in which Urias compiled a 2.96 ERA and 195 strikeouts over 185.2 innings. Instead, Urias attributed his svelter body to approaching his career with more maturity and professionalism. Still just 25 years old, Urias might yet be able to reach another level, but even if he merely maintains his strong form from 2021, he'll have an argument for being the majors' top No. 3 pitcher in any rotation. The Dodgers re-signed Clayton Kershaw last week to pair with budding ace Walker Buehler atop the rotation, while the pitching staff could get stronger yet if and when Trevor Bauer (personal) returns from administrative leave.

Charged with loss Wednesday
Urias (0-1) allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings to take the loss against Atlanta in Game 4 of the NLCS on Wednesday.
Impact
Urias had pitched the eighth inning in Game 2 of the NLCS on Sunday, which prompted some speculation that he could be pushed back to start Game 5. However, he didn't appear to have any limitations in Wednesday's matchup while throwing 92 pitches across five innings. The southpaw has now allowed at least one run in each of his four postseason appearances this year and has posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 15 innings during that time.

Still locked in for Game 4

Impact
Urias was expected to start Game 4 before the series began, but there was some doubt whether or not he'd be available after he was called upon to pitch the eighth inning in Game 2 on what would have been his bullpen day Sunday. Rather than pushing him back to Game 5 and going with a bullpen day for Game 4, however, the Dodgers will keep Urias on his previous schedule. It's possible he won't be able to pitch as deep as he otherwise would have given his relief appearance just three days prior.

Tabbed as Game 4 starter
Urias will start Game 4 of the NLCS against Atlanta on Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Urias tossed four innings while working as the primary pitcher in Game 5 of the NLDS on Thursday, and he'll be fully rested for his start at Dodger Stadium during the NLCS. The southpaw has recorded a 2.00 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in nine innings across two appearances (one start) during the postseason.

Provides four strong innings
Urias allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out five across four innings Thursday in Game 5 of the NLDS.
Impact
Urias entered the game in the third inning and matched Logan Webb's masterful performance. The lone earned run against Urias came on a solo home run by Darin Ruf in the sixth inning, though he didn't allow any additional extra-base hits. Urias played a large role in the Dodgers' advancement through the NLDS, throwing a total of nine innings across two appearances while allowing just two earned runs and racking up 10 strikeouts compared to one walk.
