2026 MLB Power Rankings: Who Are The Possible First-Time All-Stars On Every Team?
Secures 11th save Latz picked up the save Sunday against Boston. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out two over 1.1 innings.
Impact Working with a two-run cushion, Latz entered with two outs in the eighth inning and made quick work of the Red Sox, retiring all four batters he faced to secure his 11th save of the season. Through five outings in June, the southpaw has yet to allow a run and has converted four saves across 7.1 innings. It has been a standout season for the 30-year-old, who has settled into the closer role and owns a 1.62 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB across 33.1 innings (26 appearances).

Escapes trouble for 10th save Latz earned the save Wednesday against the Royals, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one over a scoreless 10th inning.
Impact Working on five days of rest, Latz was tasked with protecting a two-run lead in the 10th inning and quickly found himself in serious trouble. With the automatic runner already on second base, he allowed a leadoff single to Jac Caglianone and then walked the next batter to load the bases with nobody out. The left-hander responded brilliantly, striking out the next hitter before inducing a game-ending double-play grounder to escape unscathed and secure his 10th save. Latz has now converted a save in each of his last five appearances and owns a 1.80 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and a 30:10 K:BB across 30 innings this season.

Notches two-inning save Latz notched his ninth save of the season in Friday's win over the Guardians. He tossed two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Impact Latz entered the game in the eighth inning and recorded the final six outs while throwing 21 of his 35 pitches for strikes. He has a tight grip on the closer role and has recorded a save in each of his last four trips to the mound, a span in which he's posted an 8:1 K:BB across 5.1 innings. On the season, Latz has gone 9-for-11 in save chances.

Notches saves on back-to-back days Latz picked up a save against the Cardinals on Monday, striking out two batters over one perfect inning.
Impact Latz was summoned in the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. He succeeded without any drama, striking out the final two batters he faced and retiring the side in order on 16 pitches. Latz began June the same way he ended May -- with a save -- and continues to have a firm grasp on the Rangers' closer role, logging eight saves over his past 11 trips to the mound.

Secures seventh save Latz picked up the save in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Royals. He allowed a hit and no walks while striking out one over a scoreless inning.
Impact Entering with a three-run cushion, Latz brushed off a one-out double from Bobby Witt and retired the side without any damage to secure his seventh save of the campaign. The left-handed hurler emerged as the primary closer in late April and for good reason, as he owns a 2.08 ERA and 0.62 WHIP across 26 innings this season. Latz has succeeded by limiting free passes with a 5.5 percent walk rate while missing enough bats to post a solid 25.3 percent strikeout rate.

Notches sixth save Latz earned a save against the Astros on Tuesday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over 1.1 innings.
Impact Texas jumped out to an 8-0 lead after one inning, but Houston managed to close the deficit to three runs with two outs in the eighth. Latz was brought in with a runner on second in that frame and struck out Brice Matthews to finish the inning. He then gave up a solo homer to Jeremy Pena in the ninth, but the Astros weren't able to get any closer. Latz's save was his first in two weeks and just his third appearance over that span. With that said, no Texas pitcher picked up a save during those two weeks, and Latz remains the leading candidate for saves moving forward.

Melts down in second blown save Latz was charged with a blown save Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on three hits and no walks. He failed to record an out.
Impact Brought in to preserve a 3-2 lead in the ninth inning, Latz allowed six baserunners and even threw a wild pitch in a calamitous outing. The 30-year-old left-hander already had a loose grip on Texas' closer role, but his numbers remain strong enough that the Rangers figure to continue deploying him as their primary ninth-inning option. Through 21.2 innings, Latz has a 2.08 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB while converting five of his seven save chances.

Records fifth save Latz earned a save against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday by retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.
Impact Latz didn't look like he would get a chance to close with Texas leading 7-1 entering the ninth. However, Gavin Collyer failed to register an out while walking three batters and giving up a single, so Latz was called upon to put out the flames. The lefty allowed a pair of inherited runners to score but did his job successfully, getting three outs on 12 pitches. He seems to have settled in as the Rangers' closer, collecting a save in five of his past six appearances while posting a minuscule 0.83 ERA and 0.42 WHIP along with a 17:4 K:BB across 21.2 frames on the campaign.

Locks down six-out save Latz secured the save Sunday against the Cubs, throwing two clean innings. He struck out one.
Impact Latz continues to cement himself as the favorite for saves with the Rangers. The 30-year-old left-hander has successfully converted all four of his save opportunities in 2026, also turning in nine consecutive scoreless outings. Overall, Latz owns a tidy 0.87 ERA, 0.44 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over 20.2 innings so far.
