INJURIES

Ahead of schedule Meyers is ahead of schedule as he works his way back from shoulder surgery, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Meyers tore his left labrum in the playoffs and underwent surgery in November. At the time of the procedure, it was reported that he'd be out for Opening Day. While it's certainly positive news that he's ahead of schedule, it's unclear if he's ahead by enough that Opening Day is back in play.

Set to miss Opening Day Meyers won't be healthy for Opening Day 2022 after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Meyers suffered the injury during the ALDS and initially attempted to play through the issue before eventually being removed from the playoff roster. The 25-year-old had his first taste of big-league action in 2021 and hit .260/.323/.438 with six homers, 28 RBI, 22 runs and three stolen bases in 49 games. Myers figured to have a chance at securing the starting job in center field during spring training, but he now won't be ready for the start of the 2022 campaign while going through his rehab work.

Won't play in World Series Meyers (shoulder) was excluded from the Astros' World Series roster, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Impact Meyers hurt his shoulder in the final game of the ALDS. While he remained on the roster for the duration of the ALCS, he didn't get into a game. He isn't expected to be ready to contribute during the World Series, so he's been replaced by utility man Marwin Gonzalez.

Uncertain for World Series Astros manager Dusty Baker said Sunday that Meyers' (shoulder) status remains in doubt for the World Series matchup with Atlanta, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Impact Meyers has been tending to a left shoulder injury since crashing into the outfield wall during the Astros' Game 4 win over the White Sox in the ALDS. He was expected to make his return at some point during the Astros' matchup with the Red Sox in the ALCS, but he missed all six contests after experiencing a setback. Meyers will most likely be excluded from the World Series roster, which will be released prior to Game 1 on Tuesday.
OCTOBER 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Likely out for ALCS Astros manager Dusty Baker suggested Wednesday that Meyers experienced a setback in his recovery from a shoulder injury that will likely sideline him for the remainder of the ALCS...
Impact Meyers remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's Game 5, with Jose Siri getting the nod in center field in his stead. Since Meyers' shoulder issue is an existing concern rather than a new one, the Astros aren't able to remove him from the ALCS roster and replace him with a healthy player. Baker implied Meyers would likely be deactivated if the Astros had the ability to do so.

Remains out of lineup Meyers (shoulder) isn't starting Wednesday in Game 5 of the ALCS against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Impact Meyers was scratched from the lineup for Game 4 on Tuesday, and he hasn't yet made his ALCS debut as he continues to deal with a shoulder injury. Jose Siri will start in center field and bat eighth.
OCTOBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched from lineup Meyers (shoulder) was scratched from the lineup for Game 4 of the ALCS against Boston on Tuesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Meyers was originally listed as the Astros' starting center fielder and was lined up to make his ALCS debut, having missed the first three games of the series after hurting his shoulder at the end of the ALDS. Instead, it will be Chas McCormick manning the position. It's not clear if Meyers suffered a setback or if he's simply been deemed not quite ready.
OCTOBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ready to start Meyers (shoulder) will start Game 4 of the ALCS against the Red Sox on Tuesday, batting eighth and playing center field, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Meyers has yet to see the field during the ALCS after injuring his shoulder in the final game of the ALDS against the White Sox. He was cleared to play in Game 3 on Monday but remained on the bench. During the regular season, he hit .260/.323/.438 in 49 games in his first taste of major-league action, but his 30.7 percent strikeout rate casts doubt on the sustainability of that line.
OCTOBER 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Still not starting Meyers (shoulder) remains out of the lineup for Game 3 of the ALCS against Boston on Monday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Impact Meyers hasn't played since exiting Game 4 of the ALDS against the White Sox on Tuesday with left shoulder discomfort. While he's been cleared to play Monday, he's evidently not yet ready to start. Jose Siri will be the center fielder Monday after Chas McCormick got the nod in the first two games of the series.
OCTOBER 18, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ready to go for Game 3 Meyers (shoulder) will be available for Monday's Game 3 matchup with Boston in the ALCS, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
Impact Houston cleared Meyers to play after he took part in outfield drills at Fenway Park earlier in the day, during which he familiarized himself with how balls carom off the Green Monster in what marked his first visit to the historic park. Because Meyers has been dealing with discomfort in his left shoulder for nearly a week, he's not a lock to immediately reclaim an everyday role in the outfield for the duration of Houston's postseason run.
OCTOBER 18, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Not starting Game 2 Meyers (shoulder) isn't starting Game 2 of the ALCS against the Red Sox on Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

OCTOBER 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Won't start Game 1 Meyers (shoulder) will be on the bench for Game 1 of the ALCS against Boston on Friday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.
Impact Meyers exited Tuesday's ALDS game against the White Sox after experiencing shoulder discomfort. The fact that he's been included on the Astros' ALCS roster seemingly indicates that he'll be ready to play soon, but it will be Chas McCormick who starts in center to kick off the series.
OCTOBER 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Makes ALCS squad Meyers (shoulder) has been included on the Astros' ALCS roster.
Impact Meyers left Tuesday's ALDS clincher over the White Sox with shoulder discomfort, but the issue seemingly wasn't a particularly serious one. Whether or not he's ready to start Game 1 of the ALCS against the Red Sox on Friday is not yet clear, but the Astros evidently feel he'll be ready to contribute soon.
