Taking seat Sunday Carlson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Impact Carlson will hit the bench after he had started in each of the Rays' last four games while going 3-for-13 with a home run and a pair of walks. Though he hasn't quite moved into a full-time role in the Tampa Bay outfield just yet, Carlson seems to be pushing the struggling Jose Siri for a regular spot. Siri will man center field Sunday, but he had been out of the lineup for two of the past three games, with the Rays facing right-handed starters on both occasions.

Impact Carlson will receive a much-needed change of scenery after posting a .198/.275/.240 slash line in 59 games for the Cardinals this season. The 25-year-old is under team control for beyond 2024, and the Rays will attempt to return him to the form that earned him a third-place finish in voting for NL Rookie of the Year in 2021.
