INJURIES

Not yet throwing Hall (lat) said Friday he hopes to be cleared to start playing catch next week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hall is a month removed from suffering a lat strain and appears to be nearing the end of his shutdown period. The left-hander may need to resume throwing soon to have a chance of being fully built up by Opening Day. Any additional delays could mean Hall begins the campaign on the IL.

Recovering from lat strain Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Wednesday that Hall is recovering from a lat strain and won't throw for two weeks before being re-evaluated, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Se...
Impact Hall had been expected to compete for a rotation spot entering spring training after he worked out of the bullpen to close out his first season in Milwaukee, but the lat injury looks as though it could foil those plans. Even if the southpaw is cleared to resume throwing by the end of February, he would likely need at least a few weeks to get stretched out for starting duty before the season gets underway March 27. With that in mind, a relief role may represent Hall's clearest path to making the Opening Day roster, if he doesn't instead require a stint on the injured list.

Shifts back to bullpen Hall made appearances out of the bullpen in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Diamondbacks and in Sunday's 10-9 win in the series finale with Arizona, giving up four earned runs on five hit...
Impact Hall made a spot start last Sunday -- also against the Diamondbacks -- but he shifted back to the bullpen while the Brewers scaled back to a five-man rotation. The southpaw could be a candidate to make another spot start during the final week of the regular season if the Brewers' postseason seeding is solidified and the team wants to prioritize ordering its rotation for the playoffs.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Roughed up in short start Hall did not factor into the decision during Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four in three innings.
Impact Four singles in the first inning led to two runs for the Diamondbacks. They would score three more in the third with just one hit after Hall loaded the bases and Pavin Smith cleared them with a double. It was a step backwards for Hall who was working on 12.2 scoreless innings across his last three appearances coming into Sunday. He's shown upside at times but now owns a 4.91 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 38:20 K:BB in 36.2 innings. It's possible he gets another start, but he'll likely return back to a relief role for now.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Sunday Hall will start Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Impact Hall logged 5.2 innings across two relief appearances since joining the Brewers as a September call-up, and Sunday will mark his first start since he tossed seven scoreless frames in Cincinnati on Aug. 30. Hall has the potential to look excellent on the right day, but he's struggled to stay healthy for prolonged stretches while working as a traditional starter. Arizona's .787 OPS as a team against lefties ranks second in baseball behind the Phillies (.800 OPS).

Joins club as September call-up The Brewers recalled Hall from Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.
Impact Hall rejoined the Brewers in short order after he was briefly returned to the minors following his spot start in the second game of Friday's doubleheader with the Reds. Since he tossed seven scoreless innings for Milwaukee in the 14-0 win, Hall presumably won't be available for another couple of days, but once he's recovered from Friday's start, he'll likely operate as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. Milwaukee has a pair of off days coming up Thursday and Sept. 9, but with the club finishing the regular season with a stretch of 19 games in 20 days, it's possible that Hall picks up some starts as part of a six-man rotation.

Returned to Nashville The Brewers returned Hall to Triple-A Nashville after Friday's doubleheader versus the Reds, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Hall turned in what was by far his best start of the year during Friday's nightcap, making it through seven innings without allowing a run and tallying five strikeouts. He'll now head back to the minors, though there's a decent chance the 25-year-old southpaw returns to Milwaukee to boost its pitching depth once rosters expand Sunday.

Blanks Reds in first win Hall (1-1) earned the win Friday against Cincinnati in the second game of a doubleheader, allowing four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Impact Hall was excellent in just his second big-league start since April, blanking the Reds over seven innings to earn his first win with Milwaukee. In two spot starts this month, Hall's allowed just one earned run while racking up 14 strikeouts over 11.2 innings. Overall, the left-hander sports a 4.82 ERA on the season with a 1.75 WHIP and 27:14 K:BB across 28 innings. While Hall figures to head back to Triple-A, he figures to be the first man up should the Brewers need rotation help down the stretch.

Added ahead of spot start The Brewers recalled Hall from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hall is the designated 27th man for Friday's doubleheader against the Reds and will start the second game. The left-hander made a spot start earlier this month -- his first with the Brewers since April -- and struck out nine while yielding three runs (one earned) over 4.2 innings. Hall is likely to be sent back down immediately following the double dip.

Sent back to minors The Brewers optioned Hall to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Impact Hall looked pretty good in a spot start Sunday versus the Reds, striking out a career-high nine batters while allowing three runs over 4.2 innings. However, the Brewers will stick with five starters and keep Hall stretched out at Nashville. The Brewers have a doubleheader against the Reds on Aug. 30, so Hall could be back at that time, if not before.
AUGUST 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Falls off late Hall didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Reds, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out nine.
Impact Hall made his first big-league appearance since going on the shelf in late April with a sprained left knee and came out firing. Through three scoreless innings, Hall had punched out six batters, but he got a little wild in the fourth frame. He allowed Spencer Steer to steal a base on a wild pitch, walked Stuart Fairchild on six pitches and hit TJ Freidl with a pitch as part of a two-run inning for Cincinnati. He bounced back by retiring the first two batters of the fifth frame but was yanked after surrendering a solo homer to Tyler Stephenson and handing out a walk to Steer. Unless the Brewers expand to a six-man rotation, expect the 25-year-old Hall to be moved to the bullpen.

Activated, starting Sunday The Brewers reinstated Hall (knee) from the 60-day injured list Sunday, and he'll start in Milwaukee's series finale with Cincinnati.
Impact Milwaukee already has five healthy starters, so unless manager Pat Murphy plans to expand the rotation to six men, Hall could be headed to the bullpen following Sunday's outing, which will be his first with the big club since April 20. Before landing on the IL with as left knee sprain, Hall's spot in the rotation may have already been on thin ice, as he submitted a 7.71 ERA and 2.27 WHIP across 16.1 innings over his four starts with the big club this season. The left-hander displayed better form over the final three outings of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, logging a 2.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB across 13 innings. Hall topped out at five innings and 76 pitches during his rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be operating under any workload restrictions Sunday.
AUGUST 11, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Could start for Milwaukee on Sunday Hall (knee) could be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday against the Reds, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact The Brewers do not have a starter listed for Sunday, but it would be regular rest for Hall, who allowed one run over four innings in his latest rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. It would also be regular rest for Colin Rea, but it appears the Brewers will give him an extra day of rest after he went seven shutout innings Tuesday in Atlanta. Hall has not made a start in the majors since late April, as he's been working his way back from a left knee sprain.
AUGUST 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Set for another rehab start Hall (knee) will make at least one more rehab start with Triple-A Nashville, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Hall was able to get through five innings during his latest rehab start Wednesday -- his longest outing out of all 12 minor-league appearances he's made since landing on the IL in April. He'll most likely move to the bullpen once he comes off the injured list, but the Brewers will give him one more start in the minors to stretch out even further -- just in case he's needed in the MLB rotation.
AUGUST 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Efficient in latest rehab start Hall (knee) struck out four and allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks over four innings in his rehab start Friday with Triple-A Nashville.
Impact Currently in the midst of his third rehab assignment while he makes his way back from a lengthy absence due to a left knee sprain, Hall delivered perhaps his most encouraging outing yet. The four innings represented his longest outing at any level since April 6, and though he issued two walks and surrendered a solo home run, Hall largely avoided traffic on the bases. He tossed 57 pitches (36 strikes) in Friday's start, so the Brewers will presumably want to see Hall get further stretched out over another rehab start or two before bringing him back from the 60-day injured list. Joe Ross (knee) looks on track to return from the 60-day IL to start Tuesday against Atlanta, but Hall could end up usurping Ross as Milwaukee's No. 5 starter once he gets reinstated.

Tosses 49 pitches in rehab start Hall (knee/forearm) struck out one batter and gave up two earned runs on three hits and two walks over 2.2 innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Nashville.
Impact Hall resumed his rehab assignment with Nashville after he had been shut down for just under two weeks while he recovered from a bruised left forearm, an injury he sustained when he was struck by a line drive in his previous outing July 9. As expected, Hall looks like he'll be built back up for a starting role, as he tossed 49 pitches (26 strikes) in his return to Nashville. He'll likely need at least two more outings in the minors to get fully stretched out before the Brewers potentially bring him back from the 60-day injured list a clear a spot for him in the rotation.
JULY 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Resuming rehab assignment Hall (knee/forearm) will head to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday to resume his rehab assignment, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.
Impact While it's unclear if Hall is scheduled to pitch Sunday in Nashville's game against Norfolk, the right-hander at least isn't being shut down from throwing any longer after his rehab assignment was extended when he was hit in the left forearm by a comebacker in his last outing July 9. Though Hall has yet to cover more than three innings in any of his nine outings between his first two separate minor-league rehab assignments, general manager Matt Arnold said last Sunday that the southpaw will get stretched back out to start as he resumes pitching with Nashville. Hall had previously made all four of his appearances with Milwaukee as a starter before landing on the injured list April 21 with a left knee sprain.

Will get stretched out in minors Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Sunday that Hall (knee/forearm) will continue to get stretched out for starting duty once he resumes his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nas...
Impact Hall has had his rehab assignment at Nashville shut down on two occasions, with the latest being the result of a bruised left forearm suffered when he was struck by a line drive Tuesday. Though Hall avoided structural damage to his pitching arm, he remains shut down from throwing but should be able to resume ramping up within a few days. Hall could still be a week or more away from resuming his assignment, however, which makes it unlikely that he'll be ready to return from the 60-day injured list before the end of July. Hall had previously covered between two and three innings in his last four rehab starts with Nashville while maxing out at 62 pitches.
JULY 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Rehab extended Hall (knee) did not suffer a fracture after getting hit in the forearm by a comebacker Tuesday, but he will be shut down from throwing for 3-to-10 days, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee...
Impact Tuesday was originally supposed to be Hall's final minor-league outing, but his stay in Nashville will once again be extended while he recovers from his latest forearm injury. The Brewers haven't yet specified a new target date for Hall's return to Milwaukee, though a timeline may emerge once he's cleared to resume throwing.
