Hao-Yu Lee - Joining big-league roster
The Tigers recalled Lee from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.
Impact
A top prospect in the Tigers' organization, Lee gets the promotion after Zach McKinstry (hip/abdomen) was placed on the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. Lee will be looking to make his major-league debut with his next appearance. The 23-year-old was acquired from the Phillies at the trade deadline during the 2023 season and slashed .243/.342/.406 with 14 home runs, 61 RBI, 81 runs scored and 22 stolen bases at Triple-A last season.

Zach McKinstry - Sent to 10-day IL
The Tigers placed McKinstry on the 10-day injured list Friday with left hip/abdominal inflammation.
Impact
McKinstry was forced from Wednesday's game against the Royals with a number of ailments, as he was also said to be dealing with a scraped chest. It's been a tough start to the 2026 campaign for the 2025 All-Star, as McKinstry is slashing just .209/.261/.326 across 46 plate appearances. In a corresponding move, the Tigers recalled Hao-Yu Lee from Triple-A Toledo.

Tyler Holton - Allows home run in win
Holton gave up his first earned run of the season Thursday against the Royals and only pitched 0.1 innings in the 10-9 extra-innings win.
Impact
Holton has been a great presence out of the bullpen the past three seasons in a middle-relief role. The 29-year-old is continuing that role in 2026 as a bridge to the higher-leverage relievers. This was the first home run that Holton has given up all campaign, after last year where he gave up 15 home runs, which was tied for second worst in the league.

Keider Montero - Fades late in no-decision
Montero did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Royals, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out five over six innings.
Impact
Montero looked solid early, building off his previous start where he tossed six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, but ran into trouble late. Kansas City had managed just two runs through six innings before he ran out of gas, allowing back-to-back hits, including an RBI single to Jac Caglianone, that ended his outing. Despite Thursday's line, Montero's underlying metrics remain excellent, as he ranks near the top of the league in xERA (1.20) and xwOBA (.173). He's slated to face Milwaukee in his next start Tuesday.

Connor Seabold - Records first win Thursday
Seabold (1-0) allowed a solo home run across 1.1 innings of work but managed to secure the win Thursday against the Royals. He struck out two.
Impact
The game finished 10-9 in favor of Detroit, so Seabold wasn't the only pitcher to give up some hard-hit balls, but he did a good job of limiting the damage to just one run to secure his first 2026 win. The righty has been effective with a 2.08 ERA and nine strikeouts across 8.2 innings so far. He's mostly stuck in middle relief, though Seabold could earn a bigger role if he continues to pitch well out of the bullpen.

Gleyber Torres - Reaches three times in win
Torres went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 10-9 win over the Royals.
Impact
Batting leadoff for just the second time this year, Torres provided a spark for the Tigers. The infielder is 5-for-8 across his last two games, which has raised his batting average from .200 all the way up to .250. That's in line with the .256 average Torres recorded during the 2025 regular season, and the veteran should continue to serve as a reliable table setter in Detroit who is capable of scoring runs in bunches.

Matt Vierling - Tallies first stolen base Thursday
Vierling went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 10-9 win over the Royals.
Impact
Vierling got the start in center field with Javier Baez playing shortstop and rookie Kevin McGonigle sliding over to third base Thursday. The former responded by delivering his first stolen base and first multi-hit effort of the year. Vierling is seeing inconsistent playing time at the moment in his utility role, which limits his fantasy upside for the time being, but he can still produce on a per-game basis.

Riley Greene - Collects three hits in win
Greene went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 10-9 win over the Royals.
Impact
Greene was batting just .211 through the first 10 games of the season, but he's starting to get going with a .313 average across his last nine contests. The three-hit effort was also the first of the year for the talented outfielder. Greene was an All-Star starter during a breakout 2025 campaign in which he posted 36 home runs and 111 RBI during the regular season, and he should have more big games ahead of him in 2026.

Dillon Dingler - Blasts off in win
Dingler went 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run in Thursday's 10-9 win over the Royals.
Impact
Dingler connected on his fourth home run of the season in the fifth inning as he continued his strong start to the year. The Detroit catcher is slashing .283/.367/.566 with 14 RBI through 16 games. Dingler's .933 OPS would easily be a new career best and is nearly 200 points higher than the .752 OPS he posted in the regular season last year. The 27-year-old is building on his strong 2025 campaign and has established himself as a reliable fantasy option behind the plate.
