Kenley Jansen - Records another save Wednesday Jansen worked around a hit to toss a scoreless inning of relief and earn the save in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Royals. He struck out one.
Impact Jansen recorded his second save in as many days, and he now has four this year in five opportunities. The veteran righty also has a strong 1.93 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and seven strikeouts across 4.2 innings so far. Jansen appears to be settling in with his new team, and the 38-year-old should remain a reliable fantasy option the rest of the way as long as he remains healthy in his 17th MLB season.

Wenceel Pérez hits an 8th-inning homer as Tigers beat Royals 2-1 for 5th straight win

Wenceel Pérez hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning and the Detroit Tigers won their fifth straight game, beating the Kansas City Royals 2-1

Javier Báez - Continues solid play Baez went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Royals.
Impact Baez started in center field for the third time in Detroit's last five games, and he continued his solid start to the season. The veteran is now batting .295 with a .774 OPS, one home run, five RBI and five runs scored across 13 appearances. Baez's ability to play the outfield has opened up shortstop for young phenom Kevin McGonigle, and that arrangement figures to stick for the time being.

Wenceel Pérez - Delivers key home run Perez went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Royals.
Impact Perez entered the game as a defensive replacement after Zach McKinstry left following a collision, and the former didn't come to the plate until the eighth inning. He made the at-bat count, however, as the outfielder lifted his first home run of the year to break a 1-1 tie. It was a positive moment for Perez, though he still looks like a reserve option for the Tigers after getting recalled from Triple-A Toledo last week.

Zach McKinstry - Exits after collision McKinstry was removed from Wednesday's game against the Royals after colliding with Jac Caglianone in the seventh inning, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Impact A grounder to third base put McKinstry in the path of the running Caglianone, causing the former to trip and come up favoring his left leg. The severity of McKinstry's injury remains unknown, but any missed time would open up more opportunities for Gleyber Torres to start at second base and Colt Keith at third.

Impact Since being called up from Triple-A Toledo on Friday, Perez has gone 0-for-10 with a walk in three starts. He'll receive a $14 million signing bonus and the contract can max out at $160 million if McGonigle reaches all escalators. It's the latest in a string of pre-arbitration contract extensions teams have handed out to young players in recent weeks. Framber Valdez - Delivers quality start Tuesday Valdez came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Royals, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out one.
Impact In a battle of left-handed aces, Valdez matched up with Cole Ragans and exited the mound after 87 pitches (58 strikes) in line for the loss, but Detroit pushed across two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to flip the script. Valdez has produced three quality starts in his first four trips to the mound for the Tigers, and he'll take a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB through 24 innings into his next outing, which is set to come on the road this weekend in Boston.
