News: Oberg (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts and earned the win as the Rockies took an 8-6 walkoff victory over the Orioles on Friday.
Impact: His first appearance in six days was a successful one, and Oberg can thank Trevor Story for providing the winning home run. Hoffman owns an 8.10 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through two starts this season. He has a tenuous grip on the fifth spot in the rotation, and will need to improve to continue seeing starts down the line.
News: Blackmon (calf) won't play Friday against the Orioles, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Impact: As expected, Blackmon will take a seat Friday as he continues to battle a calf issue. "He's feeling better, but is still sore," stated skipper Bud Black. "This is truly day-to-day, there's still no timetable of when we think he's going to be in the lineup."

Impact: Since being called up May 4, Almonte hasn't surrendered a run over 6.2 innings of work out of the bullpen. He's struck out seven and walked four over that stretch. Despite the right-hander's success, the Rockies have sent him to the minor leagues and have recalled Jeff Hoffman in a corresponding move.

Impact: As anticipated, Hoffman has been promoted to the big leagues and will toe the rubber for the series opener. He started one game earlier in the season April 23 against the Nationals, surrendering four runs while punching out six over five innings. Yency Almonte was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
