Impact The right-hander is working his way back from an elbow strain and appears to be on the cusp of returning to game action. If Burns comes out of his two sessions this week with no issues, and he then be sent to the minor leagues on a rehab assignment.

Impact The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Reiver Sanmartin. La Sorsa has made five appearances out of the Reds' bullpen this season, allowing nine runs (eight earned) in 6.2 innings.

Impact Stephenson has missed just over two weeks of action with a fractured thumb but has already been cleared to play in games. He could be ready for activation from the 10-day injured list by this weekend.

Impact The Reds have a bullpen game Tuesday against the Blue Jays and needed a reliever who can provide more length than Moll, who has covered just 18.1 frames in his 23 appearances this season. Reiver Sanmartin is taking Moll's spot on the roster.

Impact Sanmartin hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023 but has had a nice season at Louisville, collecting a 2.79 ERA and 44:17 K:BB over 58 innings. He could be asked to eat multiple innings during a bullpen game Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.

Alfredo Duno - Dominating FSL pitchers Duno hit .338 with seven home runs, 24 walks and 11 strikeouts in 25 August games for Single-A Daytona.
Impact One of the most feared hitters in the Florida State League, the 19-year-old Duno is in complete control at the plate of late, as he walked more than twice as often (23.1 BB%) as he struck out (10.6 K%) last month. On the season, the hulking catcher is slashing .281/.426/.496 with 15 home runs, a 19.1 percent walk rate and an 18.4 percent strikeout rate in 109 games. He is two or three years away from the big leagues, but Duno has the upside to be a top five fantasy catcher in his prime.

Spencer Steer - Enters late Steer (leg) entered Monday's game as a replacement at first base and went 0-for-1 in a 5-4 win over Toronto.
Impact Steer opened the game on the bench due to a nagging leg issue, which is purportedly not serious. His departure from the lineup opened a slot for prospect Sal Stewart, who made his MLB debut as the starting first baseman. Steer, who eventually replaced Stewart for defensive purposes, seemingly will be ready to play a full nine innings Tuesday.

Impact Stewart was called up Monday and made his big-league debut while filling in at first base for Spencer Steer (leg). The highly regarded prospect singled in his first at-bat and scored on a Ke'Bryan Hayes double. In addition to first base, Stewart could see time at second base, DH and third base when Hayes needs a breather.

Impact Friedl helped the Reds come back from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning, delivering a ground-rule double to plate the first run before Noelvi Marte walked off the Blue Jays one batter later. Friedl is fighting to break out of a second half slump and has posted multi-hit efforts in two straight games along with three RBI.

Impact The Reds squandered a lead in the top of the ninth inning but mounted their own comeback in the bottom of the frame. Marte finished it with a two-run single to walk off Toronto. He's scuffled the last week, batting .200 (6-for-30) with a 36.4 strikeout percentage, but Marte has delivered key hits during that run, including two home runs.
