Wild in no-decision Singer did not factor in the decision against San Francisco on Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks while striking out five over five innings.
Impact Singer allowed only two hits -- both doubles -- in his five frames, but he yielded a season-high five walks. Four of the free passes came consecutively in the third inning, when Singer couldn't find his control and walked in a pair of runs with two outs. Walks hadn't been an issue for Singer this season -- he entered Monday having yielded just four free passes across 35.1 frames -- but the right-hander has been worse in that area in previous campaigns. After hurling 16.2 scoreless innings over four appearances across a month-long period in April and May, Singer has come back to earth by giving up 15 earned runs over 20.2 frames in his past four starts.

Impact Two of the hits off Singer left the yard, but the right-hander got enough run support to weather the blows. Keeping the ball in the yard has become a problem for the 25-year-old, as he's served up six homers in his last three starts, but Singer still sports a 3.94 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and sharp 29:3 K:BB in 29.2 innings since rejoining the Royals' rotation.

Impact Singer had allowed just two homers in 25.1 innings this season, but the Astros muscled up for three long balls Friday to account for six of the seven runs on his line. The right-hander has been mostly solid since rejoining the rotation -- this was his first bad start in four since May 17. He owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 30:4 K:BB across 30.1 innings overall. He'll look to bounce back in another tough home matchup next week versus the Blue Jays.

Scoreless streak ends, grabs win Singer (2-0) earned the win Saturday after he pitched 5.2 innings, surrendering three runs on six hits while striking out eight versus the Twins.
Impact Singer gave up a solo homer to Trevor Larnach in the bottom of the second before later surrendering two more runs in the sixth frame, recording two outs in the inning before exiting. He fell one out short of recording his third straight quality start while he gave up his first earned runs since getting recalled from Triple-A Omaha on May 17. Impact Singer faced a couple of threats Sunday, including in the sixth inning when he loaded the bases with just one out, but he managed to keep the Twins off the board. He's fired 14 scoreless frames in two starts this month and has a 16.2-inning shutout streak dating back to April. With the way he's pitching as of late, the 25-year-old righty should continue seeing regular action at the MLB level. Singer is currently projected to get a rematch in Minnesota next week.
