Grabs third win Singer (3-6) earned the win Tuesday against the Mets, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings.
Impact Singer got off to a strong start, retiring the first six batters he faced before running into trouble in the middle innings. The right-hander allowed seven total baserunners across the third and fourth innings but limited the damage to just one run on a Bo Bichette RBI-single after stranding the bases loaded in both frames. The three hits allowed were a season low, as his 1.61 WHIP this season illustrates the traffic he has allowed on the bases. Singer now owns a 5.32 ERA and 52:23 K:BB across 66 innings and is slated to face the Brewers at home in his next start.

Sharp in no-decision Singer did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Padres, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.
Impact While Singer remains with a win since April 25, Wednesday's outing was certainly a step in the right direction, as he logged his first quality start in his last eight outings. Coming into the day, Singer had struggled to a 6.92 ERA while giving up 12 homers in 26 innings in his previous six outings. Overall, Singer is 2-6 with a 5.61 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 47:20 K:BB across 13 starts (61 innings) this season. He's tentatively lined up to face the Mets at home his next time out.

Loses fourth straight Singer (2-6) took the loss against the Cardinals on Friday, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts over four innings.
Impact Singer allowed runs in three different frames and struggled with his command, throwing just 49 of 89 pitches for strikes. While only one of the three runs he allowed Friday was earned, the 29-year-old has now surrendered at least three runs in six straight starts, a stretch in which he's gone 0-5 while yielding 12 home runs. He'll carry a disappointing 5.89 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 42:19 K:BB across 55 innings this season into a road matchup against the Padres next week.

Continues to struggle with homers Singer (2-5) took the loss against Atlanta on Saturday, throwing five innings and allowing three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two batters.
Impact Singer battled both his control and command throughout the outing -- in addition to walking four batters, he allowed a pair of homers. The right-hander threw only 48 of 94 pitches for strikes and finished with just two punchouts. The long ball has been a big issue for Singer of late, as he's now given up 13 home runs over his past 27.1 innings. The veteran hurler has an ugly 2.8 HR/9 this season, which is more than double his previous career-high rate. Those troubles have led to a 6.18 ERA in what is shaping up to be Singer's worst season as a pro.

Reds-Cardinals postponed Sunday Singer and the Reds won't face the Cardinals on Sunday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Cincinnati.
Impact The two teams will make up the game as part of a split doubleheader Aug. 17. As a result of the postponement, the Reds plan to skip Singer's turn through the rotation, per C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic. Singer now lines up to make his next start during the Reds' home series versus Atlanta next weekend.

Punished by homers again Singer (2-4) took the loss Sunday against the Guardians, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over four innings.
Impact Singer filled the strike zone by throwing 54 of his 86 pitches for strikes, but Cleveland punished his mistakes all afternoon. All five runs he allowed came via the long ball, as the right-hander surrendered three home runs in a contest where the Guardians launched six total homers. The home run issues have become a major concern for Singer, who has now allowed three homers in back-to-back starts and 11 total over his last five outings. The 29-year-old now owns a 6.26 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB across 46 innings. He will seek to limit the long ball in his next scheduled start, against the Cardinals at home next weekend.

Guardians and Reds play in series rubber match

Both the Cleveland Guardians and the Cincinnati Reds are looking for a series win with a victory on Sunday
MAY 17 • Associated Press
Confirmed for next start The Reds list Singer (foot) as their probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game in Cleveland.
Impact Singer's right foot was struck by a 106.7 mile-per-hour line drive during his most recent start Tuesday against the Nationals, but he wasn't forced out of the game early and ended up taking a loss after yielding three earned runs on six hits and one walk over 3.2 innings. The right-hander underwent follow-up X-rays following the start that returned negative, and though he's still tending to some bruising to the foot, the issue doesn't look like it will keep him from making his next turn through the rotation. Though his health seemingly isn't a concern, Singer won't make for a dependable fantasy option heading into his 10th start of the season after turning in a 5.79 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB in 42 innings through his first nine outings.
MAY 14 • ROTOWIRE
Optimistic about making next start Singer is hopeful of making his next start despite being hit in the right foot by a comebacker during Tuesday's outing versus the Nationals, Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati re...
Impact A 106.7 mph comebacker off the bat of Daylen Lile in the second inning caught Singer in the foot. He stayed in the game but allowed five of the next 12 batters to reach base and three of them to score, so he might have been affected by the injury. However, Singer feels better than expected Wednesday, and it seems he should be good to go Sunday in Cleveland, barring a setback.
MAY 13 • ROTOWIRE
Can't keep ball in yard Tuesday Singer (2-3) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over 3.2 innings as the Reds fell 10-4 to the Nationals. He struck out two.
Impact All three runs came on solo shots, two in the third inning by James Wood and Luis Garcia and another in the fourth in Daylen Lile that helped chase Singer from the game. The right-hander wasn't the only Reds pitcher to have a rough night as Great American Ball Park lived up to its reputation, as Washington launched six homers in total. Singer's has issues keeping the ball in every stadium of late, however -- he's been taken deep eight times in his last four starts, stumbling to a 6.38 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB over 18.1 innings during that span. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road this weekend in Cleveland.
