Trey Gibson - Falls apart in fifth inning Gibson (1-1) took the loss Monday against the Rays, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in 4.2 innings. He failed to record a strikeout.

Impact Filling in for the injured Chris Bassitt (back), Gibson wasn't very effective in a spot start Monday. The rookie right-hander did make it through four scoreless innings initially, but the Mariners tagged him for three runs in the fifth frame. Gibson has looked overmatched at times in the major leagues, posting a 4.24 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and an alarming 5:8 K:BB over 17 innings, so he'll be tough to trust as a streaming option in his next scheduled start versus the Padres.

Impact Inflammation in his left elbow landed Povich on the 15-day injured list exactly one month ago, and he's finally improved enough to throw off the mound again. The southpaw is likely to require at least one rehab start before rejoining the Orioles. If Povich beats Dean Kremer (quadriceps) and/or Chris Bassitt (back) back from the IL, he'll have a good chance to enter the Baltimore rotation.

Jhonkensy Noel - Goes on Triple-A IL Noel was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Norfolk on Monday with left wrist inflammation, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Impact Noel hasn't played in almost two weeks because of the injury, and he is set to miss additional time. The 24-year-old has been a disaster at Norfolk this season, slashing .121/.217/.243 with three homers and a 30 percent strikeout rate over 120 plate appearances.
