To get another turn
Voth will stick in the rotation for at least one more turn Saturday at Boston, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
He was quite solid in his first two starts of the season, but has given up 14 runs on 21 hits and eight walks in 11.2 innings over his last three outings -- the worst of which came Monday against the Marlins. Manager Davey Martinez said that he will talk to Voth on Tuesday to emphasize sticking with his fastball more, particularly the second time through the lineup, adding "I'm not going to give up on him." If the Nationals had an obvious internal upgrade, they might be less patient with Voth. They could potentially acquire an upgrade prior to Monday's trade deadline.

Saddled with third loss
Voth (0-3) took the loss after allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings Monday against the Marlins.
Impact
Voth made it through the first two innings unscathed before the Marlins jumped on him for one run in the third, followed by five runs in the fourth. He would exit the contest with a 6-0 deficit, setting him up for his third loss of the campaign. When asked after the contest if the Nationals would consider changing up the starting rotation, manager Dave Martinez stated "I'm not going to jump to conclusions tonight," Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports, so while Voth's spot in the rotation appears to be safe at the moment, it's certainly a possibility that he could be moved to the bullpen or even sent down if he continues to struggle.

Bailed out by offense
Voth didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 8-5 win over Atlanta, coughing up five runs on nine hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out three.
Impact
The right-hander checked out of the game down 5-2 and on the hook for his third loss of the year, but the Nats' offense rallied for four runs in the top of the fifth and finished the night with 17 hits. Voth has had one good start and three shaky ones so far, resulting in a 5.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and mediocre 12:6 K:BB through 18 innings, but a lack of alternatives probably keeps his rotation spot secure. He'll next take the mound Sunday, at home against the Marlins.

Takes loss vs. Mets
Voth (0-2) took the loss against the Mets Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out two.
Impact
Voth's outing was ultimately soured by homers from Dominic Smith (solo) and Tomas Nido (two-run). Voth was pulled after finishing the fourth inning with 86 pitches thrown. The right-hander will look to bounce back and go deeper into the game when he takes the ball Tuesday in Atlanta.

Strong effort wasted
Voth didn't factor into the decision during Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles, scattering two hits and a walk over five scoreless innings while striking out five.
Impact
The O's didn't even get a runner into scoring position off Voth until the fifth inning, and the right-hander was in line for his first win of the season until the bullpen melted down in the eighth. Voth now sports a 1.80 ERA and 7:1 K:BB through 10 innings, and he'll look to get into the win column in his next outing, a road clash with the Mets on Thursday.

Starting team's first game of week
Corbin is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Mets in Washington, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
Impact
After their three-game series in Miami this past weekend was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, the Nationals will return from a four-day break Tuesday. Manager Dave Martinez has opted to use the off days to reorder the pitching schedule, as Corbin and Max Scherzer will take the hill for the two games versus the Mets. The Nationals are only scheduled to play five games this week and may not have Stephen Strasburg (hand) available for any of those contests, so Corbin could be in store for a two-start week if Martinez opts to temporarily shorten the rotation to four men. In that scenario, Austin Voth or Erick Fedde would likely move to the bullpen to clear room for Corbin to start Sunday's series finale with the Orioles.

Takes loss despite solid outing
Voth (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Blue Jays after allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out two over five innings.
Impact
The 28-year-old earned the fifth spot in the Nats' starting rotation and had a respectable first start of the season, despite allowing two homers. Voth previously lined up for a two-start week with Sunday's game in Miami, but those games have been postponed given the COVID-19 outbreak among the Marlins' players and staff. Voth likely won't be taking the mound again until next week with Washington potentially having this weekend off.
