Bryce Elder - Tagged for five runs in loss Elder (5-6) allowed five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Giants.

Impact Elder gave up four of the runs via Rafael Devers long balls. This was Elder's third straight loss, and he has allowed 19 runs over 14 innings in that span, largely undoing what was a mostly positive first half of the campaign. The right-hander is now at a 4.01 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 83:30 K:BB through 98.2 innings over 17 starts. He's allowed five homers during his current losing streak compared to just seven homers across his first 14 starts, which explains at least some of the recent struggles.

Carlos Santana - Reaches MiLB deal with Atlanta Santana agreed to a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Saturday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Santana struggled mightily with Arizona early in the season, slashing .083/.154/.125 with a 2:8 BB:K over 26 plate appearances. The 40-year-old then suffered an adductor strain in early April, and when he was activated from the IL this past Wednesday, he was subsequently designated for assignment. Santana ultimately cleared waivers and was released, clearing the way for him to get a look from Atlanta. He'll presumably begin his stint with the organization as veteran depth at Triple-A Gwinnett, but if he performs well he could get another chance in the majors.

His next start is projected to be Tuesday against St. Louis, but that outing may now hinge on whether Holmes is needed out of the bullpen this weekend in San Francisco. Ha-Seong Kim - Struggles continue Friday Kim went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's win over the Giants.

Impact Making his second straight start at shortstop while batting ninth in the order, Kim saw his hitless streak extend to 25 plate appearances -- his last base knock was a single back on June 3. His struggles, both at the plate and in the field, since returning from finger surgery in mid-May have cost him his starting job at shortstop and allowed Jorge Mateo to get consistent playing time, but Atlanta hasn't completely given up on Kim. If he doesn't turn things around soon, however, the team could have a tough decision to make about his future once Ronald Acuna (hamstring) returns from the IL in July and frees Mauricio Dubon up for regular shortstop duty again. Over 76 PAs in 2026, Kim is slashing a woeful .072/.158/.072 with a career-worst 26.3 percent strikeout rate.

Impact Dubon logged his third multi-hit effort in his last five games, a span in which he's gone 9-for-22 (.409). The utility man hasn't been particularly active on the basepaths this season -- this was just his second steal on four attempts, with both successful thefts coming in June. He's now batting .267 with a .735 OPS, eight home runs, 43 RBI, 34 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples over 76 contests.

Impact Iglesias has run into some struggles lately, allowing four runs (two earned) over his last 5.2 innings. He took two losses in that span five-game span. Friday's outing was the first time in eight appearances in May where he didn't allow a hit. Iglesias is still a perfect 16-for-16 in save chances while pitching to a 1.37 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB over 26.1 innings this season. While there are some warning signs, Iglesias doesn't appear to be at risk of losing the closing job any time soon, especially while Robert Suarez (elbow inflammation) is on the injured list.

Hurston Waldrep - Works in relief in season debut Waldrep allowed two hits and four walks while striking out three over two scoreless innings of relief in Friday's 3-1 win over San Francisco.

Impact Waldrep made his major-league season debut Friday. He had pitched in the minors, starting five games at three different levels, though he pitched to a combined 3.52 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB in those games prior to his call-up. Waldrep doesn't appear to be fully stretched out -- he threw 55 pitches (28 strikes) in Friday's game. The right-hander also has some control issues to work through before he could be trusted with a starting role. Atlanta has a gap in its rotation that will likely last through July, so it's possible Waldrep and Atlanta's starter Friday, Reynaldo Lopez, end up working in some sort of tandem arrangement. Atlanta hasn't revealed its plans for the next time this spot in the rotation comes up next week at home versus St. Louis.

Reynaldo López - Goes three innings in start Lopez allowed one run on four hits and struck out one without walking a batter over three innings in a no-decision versus San Francisco on Friday.

Impact Lopez threw 35 of 57 pitches for strikes. He's not fully stretched out after spending time in the bullpen for the last two months. He now has a 3.47 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 40:21 K:BB through 46.2 innings over 19 games (six starts) this season. Hurston Waldrep pitched two scoreless innings in relief during Friday's game, but he also walked four batters. The last spot in Atlanta's rotation figures to be in flux at least through the All-Star break. Lopez could ultimately stretch out more, but it wouldn't be surprising if some sort of piggyback arrangement emerges since Waldrep also isn't fully stretched out after returning from elbow surgery he underwent in February. This spot in the rotation comes up again at home versus St. Louis next week.
