Monday Night Football Highlights: Lions beat Buccaneers; Seahawks down Texans
A huge Monday Night Football doubleheader concluded NFL Week 7, as the Detroit Lions (5-2) took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) and the Seattle Seahawks (5-2) defeated the Houston Texans (2-4).
Houston and Seattle closed the night in a showdown that saw the Seahawks' hard-nosed defense put C.J. Stroud through the ringer. The Texans D made some nice plays against Sam Darnold but it wasn't enough to turn the tide on the road.
Bucs-Lions had major shootout potential given the high-powered offenses led by MVP candidate Baker Mayfield and Jared Goff, but the contest was dominated by Detroit. Mayfield's weaponry received a nice upgrade with the return of Mike Evans, and star rookie Emeka Egbuka in the lineup one week after suffering a hamstring strain. But Evans' night ended early due to another injury.
