That cushion quickly evaporated after bogeying each of the first three holes, but the South African was able to collect himself to finish with an even par 71 and entered a three-way playoff against Spaniards Rahm and Ballester. Burmester got the better of his counterparts on the par-4 18th playoff hole, sinking his birdie putt to win his first LIV Golf trophy of the season and second of his career. He is now in striking distance of third place in the LIV Golf individual season standings currently occupied by Bryson DeChambeau heading into Indianapolis next weekend.
