Suspended indefinitely after arrest Washington State suspended de Laura indefinitely after he was arrested Saturday in Pullman on a DUI charge, Rob Jesselson of Q6 Local News Spokane reports.
Impact According to Pullman Police, de Laura was pulled over around 2 a.m. local time after he failed to stop at a stop sign, then drove the wrong way down a street. De Laura then failed a field sobriety test before being taken to jail and later released. The Cougars will likely wait for de Laura's legal process to play out before determining when or if he'll be reinstated. Even if he's cleared to resume practicing before the 2021 season gets underway, de Laura's DUI arrest could still result in him missing game action. De Laura finished his freshman season as the Cougars' starting quarterback, completing 78 of 129 attempts for 886 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. He was expected to face competition in the spring and summer for the No. 1 job from graduate transfer Jarrett Guarantano, and de Laura's arrest will only hurt his chances of opening the season atop the depth chart.
