Joe Fagnano - Sets career best in OT loss Fagnano completed 28-of-38 pass attempts for a personal best 346 yards and two touchdowns in the 44-41 loss in overtime to Delaware on Saturday.
Impact As it turned out, Fagnano needed every yard to get the game into overtime. The senior could put up similar numbers this Saturday, Sept. 20 against Ball State who are near the bottom in pass defense. Two of the games that the Cardinals have played though have been against Purdue and Auburn.

Jayden Brown - Second in rushing in OT defeat Brown collected 72 yards on only five attempts on the ground and a touchdown as UConn fell 27-20 in overtime to Syracuse on Saturday.
Impact For the second game in a row, Brown was the second option in running to only Cam Edwards. Brown has 155 yards rushing on 14 carries in the first two games on the season. He's on track to top his career best season that came in 2023 for Gardner-Webb when he registered 646 rushing yards. The obvious issue is that Edwards is ahead of him in the pecking order.

Impact It was the first game for Murphy after he transferred from Arizona. Since the game was a blowout, most of the starters did not see time in the second half. The senior will definitely get his opportunities in the future. He will get his chance in the next game (Sept. 6), but it will be a tougher pass defense in Syracuse. The Orangemen pass defense was in the middle of the pack last season.
