3 Thoughts ... on the Aztecs' 35-7 loss to No. 14 Utah San Diego State has a quarterback controversy on its hands, but with a twist — who's No. 2?
Jordan Byrd - 29 yards as offense lacks Byrd ended Saturday's 35-7 loss to Utah with six carries and 29 yards.
Impact Byrd rushed for just 29 yards against the Utes, but he was only two yards away from tying Jaylon Armstead for the most team rushing yards. Similar to most players on the Aztecs, Byrd saw his stats decline between Weeks 2 and 3, but he will look to get them back up as San Diego State faces Toledo Saturday.

Jaylon Armstead - Rushes for 31 yards Armstaead had five carries for 31 yards Saturday when the Aztecs fell to the Utes 35-7.
Impact Armstead notched career-high receiving yards in Week 2 with 96 yards, but he reverted back to more of his normal yardage with 31. He will attempt to get closer to his career-high yards when San Diego State faces Toledo on Saturday.

Josh Nicholson - Makes collegiate debut vs. Aztecs Nicholson had two receptions for 23 yards and one touchdown Saturday as San Diego State fell to Utah 35-10.
Impact Nicholson appeared in his first college game as the Aztecs faced the Utes, and while it was not a pretty game, Nicholson still found reason to celebrate. He notched the only touchdown for San Diego State and also led the team in receiving yards.

Kyle Crum - Third QB to face Utah Crum went 5-for-16 and threw for 53 yards, one touchdown and one interception Saturday as the Aztecs fell to the Utes 35-7.
Impact Crum was the third choice for an Aztecs quarterback, and while he did not look particularly strong, the Aztecs quickly ran out of options. He came into the game in the second quarter following the exit of Braxton Burmeister and William Haskell, and he managed to score a touchdown despite an inefficient performance.

Impact After Haskell came in to replaced the injured Braxton Burmeister, he did not look particularly strong. He struggled to run the offense and lasted less than one quarter before being replaced by true freshman Kyle Crum.

Impact Burmeister left the game two minutes into the first quarter, leading him to have extremely low stats on the game. Burmeister was replaced by Will Haskell, who was then followed by Kyle Crum, but neither looked nearly as strong as the QB1 typically does.
