Jalen Macon - Starting once again Macon will get the nod at QB for Northern Illinois once again in Week 12, per Skyler Kisellus of the Northern Star.
Impact Macon took over for Josh Holst, and in his first start last week against UMass, he tossed for 73 yards and a score on 3-of-4 passing while rushing for 98 yards and three touchdowns. He hardly needed to do anything as a passer as the Huskies' rolled a winless minutemen squad. The competition gets harder against Western Michigan in Week 12, but Macon has a grip on the starting role as of right now.

Chavon Wright - Records 86 rushing yards in blowout Wright logged 12 rushes for 86 yards and one touchdown during Wednesday's 45-3 win over Massachusetts.
Impact Wright led the Huskies' backfield in the blowout win over the Minutemen, topping 80 yards and being second to only quarterback Jalen Macon in rushing yards. The starting running back has seen volatile output this season, given the nature of Northern Illinois' rushing committee, but he has been their go-to guy in many instances. He'll aim to finish the season strong in a two-game home stretch, starting with a game against Western Michigan next Tuesday.

The redshirt freshman running back will look to stay involved in the Huskies' final two-game stretch of the season, but he likely won't get a lot of touches unless NIU goes up big again.

Impact Macon got his first start of the season against the Minutemen, and he showed out both as a passer and a rusher. While the 6-foot-5 quarterback logged just four pass attempts, he completed three of them for 73 yards and cashed a touchdown. The most impressive part of his performance was on the ground, though, with a rushing score in every quarter but the fourth. Given the dominance and efficiency of the blowout showing from Macon, he'll likely get a start once again next Tuesday against Western Michigan.
