Returning to Penn State Allen will return to Happy Valley for his senior season, he announced via his personal X account.

Impact Allen's announcement came shortly after fellow star tailback, Nicholas Singleton, also announced his return for 2025. The two rising seniors are each coming off career seasons, with Allen posting 1,108 rushing yards and five scores while catching 18 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns. With their two-headed monster set to run it back, plus the return of quarterback Drew Allar, the Nittany Lions offense should once again be a force to be reckoned with.

After scoring twice against SMU in round one and amassing 134 yards in round two, the halfback is hot heading into the College Football Playoff Semifinal.

Impact Allen had his third lackluster outing in a row, as he's now tallied 26 carries for 64 yards over this stretch. The junior running back looked like he might take over as the Nittany Lions' lead back while fellow junior Nicholas Singleton was hampered by injury midway through the season. But, the former has come back on as of late and actually led the team with 13 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns versus Maryland. Despite playing in one more game than his counterpart, Allen finishes the regular-season with a team-high 159 carries, but he totaled fewer yards (698) and rushing touchdowns (five) than Singleton. This win for Penn State combined with Ohio State's loss Week 14 also secured the Nittany Lions a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game this coming Saturday. Expect Allar and Singleton to once again strike a balanced workload once again during this coming game.

Tied up in tight win Week 13 Allen recorded seven carries for 10 yards during Saturday's 26-25 victory versus Minnesota.

Impact Allen had by far his worst outing of the season, falling below 25 rushing yards for the second week in a row. Last week's 20-yard outing on six carries versus Purdue wasn't overly concerning, as that was a blowout win for the Nittany Lions. But, Allen and the Penn State rushing game was held almost completely in check by the Gophers defense. Minnesota also led or was in control for most of the game, which likely caused the Nittany Lions to shy away from the running game. The more concerning aspect was that Nicholas Singleton led the team in carries (13) and rushing yards (63) by relatively wide margins. Allen had been featured more than his counterpart in recent weeks, but it's clear these two are still prone to flip-flopping who's RB1 versus RB2 for a given week. They'll wrap up the regular season against a 4-7 Maryland squad this Saturday.

Impact Allen logged a season-low in carries, leading to his lowest rushing output since Week 1 against West Virginia. He salvaged this poor stat line with a season-high in receiving yards and his first receiving touchdown since the season opener, catching a two-yard pass in the end on the opening drive of the game. The 220-pound running back evenly split carries with co-starter Nicholas Singleton (seven), as the latter remained involved after leaving last week's win early with an undisclosed injury. Meanwhile, tight end Tyler Warren and backup quarterback Nicholas Singleton stole some potential rushing touchdowns with long scores of 48 and 49 yards on the ground in the second half. Expect Singleton and Allen to both feature in the game plan once more during this coming Saturday's road game at Minnesota.

With Singleton's status up in the air, Allen could be in line for an increased workload once again during next week's game at Purdue. However, he'll still likely have to compete with No. 2 quarterback Beau Pribula and do-it-all tight end Tyler Warren for scoring opportunities on the ground.

Impact Allen failed to eclipse 50 rushing yards for the first time since Week 1. The 5-foot-11 junior still got close to his average number of rushing attempts, but it didn't matter much as the Nittany Lions' offense failed to gain traction against the Buckeyes. Allen averaged 16.5 carries for 80.5 yards and 1.0 touchdown per game across Penn State's first four Big Ten matchups. His production should return to this level over the final four games, starting with next week's home contest versus Washington.

The junior running back salted away this win with a 24-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter. Allen still logged fewer carries than fellow running back Nicholas Singleton (12), as the latter has typically been the slight favorite out of the backfield when both are healthy. Through four Big Ten games, Allen has averaged 16.5 rushing attempts for 80.5 yards. Starting quarterback Drew Allar was also ruled out with a leg injury suffered just before the end of the first half, and the Nittany Lions seemed to employ more of a ground-and-pound offensive gameplan with Beau Pribula in at quarterback for the entire second half. Allen and Singleton may have to shoulder bigger workloads if Allar is sidelined for next week's marquee matchup versus No. 4 Ohio State.

Allen should remain a significant part of the ground game this coming Saturday's home game against UCLA.
