Returning to Penn State Allen will return to Happy Valley for his senior season, he announced via his personal X account.

Impact Allen's announcement came shortly after fellow star tailback, Nicholas Singleton, also announced his return for 2025. The two rising seniors are each coming off career seasons, with Allen posting 1,108 rushing yards and five scores while catching 18 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns. With their two-headed monster set to run it back, plus the return of quarterback Drew Allar, the Nittany Lions offense should once again be a force to be reckoned with.

Posts 88 yards in Orange Bowl Allen tallied 19 carries for 82 yards and reeled in their only target for six yards during Thursday's 27-24 defeat to Notre Dame.

Impact Allen notched 88 total yards on 20 touches during Thursday's loss against Notre Dame in the CFB Semifinals, but he was overshadowed by a three-touchdown game from Nicholas Singleton. The 5-foot-11 junior will close out his third season with the Nittany Lions with 220 carries for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, along with 18 receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Allen may be in line for a bell cow role with the Nittany Lions next season if Singleton enters the NFL Draft as expected.

Dominant vs. Broncos Allen totaled 17 carries for 134 yards during Tuesday's 31-14 win versus Boise State.

Impact Allen was the lead back for Penn State against Boise State, pacing the backfield in carries over fellow tailback Nicholas Singleton. It was Allen's biggest day of the season from a yardage standpoint. After scoring twice against SMU in round one and amassing 134 yards in round two, the halfback is hot heading into the College Football Playoff Semifinal.

Scores twice against SMU Allen had 11 rushes for 70 yards and two touchdowns and caught 2 of 3 targets for 28 yards during Saturday's 38-10 win against Southern Methodist.

Impact Allen posted 98 total yards and two scores as the Nittany Lions steamrolled the Mustangs in the first round of the CFB Playoffs. The 5-foot-11 junior has logged 1,039 total yards and 10 touchdowns on 201 touches this season. Allen and Nicholas Singleton will have the tall task of trying to match Heisman runner-up Ashton Jeanty's production on the ground during Tuesday's game against Boise State in the second round of the CFB Playoffs.

Best performance of the season Allen accrued 14 carries for 124 yards and one touchdown and caught 3 of 4 targets for 15 yards during Saturday's 45-37 defeat to Oregon.

Impact Allen's 124 yards were his highest total in 2024. The tailback was dynamic against the Ducks, as was his backfield mate Nicholas Singleton. Unfortunately for Penn State, it wasn't enough to win the Big Ten title game. Allen will look to stay hot in round one of the College Football Playoff against SMU.

Logs 34 yards Week 14 Allen accrued 13 carries for 34 yards and caught 0 of 1 targets for zero yards during Saturday's 44-7 victory against Maryland.

Impact Allen had his third lackluster outing in a row, as he's now tallied 26 carries for 64 yards over this stretch. The junior running back looked like he might take over as the Nittany Lions' lead back while fellow junior Nicholas Singleton was hampered by injury midway through the season. But, the former has come back on as of late and actually led the team with 13 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns versus Maryland. Despite playing in one more game than his counterpart, Allen finishes the regular-season with a team-high 159 carries, but he totaled fewer yards (698) and rushing touchdowns (five) than Singleton. This win for Penn State combined with Ohio State's loss Week 14 also secured the Nittany Lions a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game this coming Saturday. Expect Allar and Singleton to once again strike a balanced workload once again during this coming game.

Tied up in tight win Week 13 Allen recorded seven carries for 10 yards during Saturday's 26-25 victory versus Minnesota.

Impact Allen had by far his worst outing of the season, falling below 25 rushing yards for the second week in a row. Last week's 20-yard outing on six carries versus Purdue wasn't overly concerning, as that was a blowout win for the Nittany Lions. But, Allen and the Penn State rushing game was held almost completely in check by the Gophers defense. Minnesota also led or was in control for most of the game, which likely caused the Nittany Lions to shy away from the running game. The more concerning aspect was that Nicholas Singleton led the team in carries (13) and rushing yards (63) by relatively wide margins. Allen had been featured more than his counterpart in recent weeks, but it's clear these two are still prone to flip-flopping who's RB1 versus RB2 for a given week. They'll wrap up the regular season against a 4-7 Maryland squad this Saturday.

Scores through the air Week 12 Allen logged six carries for 20 yards and hauled in four of six targets for 44 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 49-10 win versus Purdue.

Impact Allen logged a season-low in carries, leading to his lowest rushing output since Week 1 against West Virginia. He salvaged this poor stat line with a season-high in receiving yards and his first receiving touchdown since the season opener, catching a two-yard pass in the end on the opening drive of the game. The 220-pound running back evenly split carries with co-starter Nicholas Singleton (seven), as the latter remained involved after leaving last week's win early with an undisclosed injury. Meanwhile, tight end Tyler Warren and backup quarterback Nicholas Singleton stole some potential rushing touchdowns with long scores of 48 and 49 yards on the ground in the second half. Expect Singleton and Allen to both feature in the game plan once more during this coming Saturday's road game at Minnesota.

Carries rushing workload Week 11 Allen logged 20 rushes for 98 yards and one touchdown and caught one of two targets for eight yards during Saturday's 35-6 win over Washington.

Impact Allen capped off this win when he scored a one-yard rushing touchdown with just under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. This marked his fifth rushing touchdown of the season - all of which have come across the last six games. He also logged 20-plus carries for just the second time this season compared to just seven for Nicholas Singleton, who apparently did not finish the game. With Singleton's status up in the air, Allen could be in line for an increased workload once again during next week's game at Purdue. However, he'll still likely have to compete with No. 2 quarterback Beau Pribula and do-it-all tight end Tyler Warren for scoring opportunities on the ground.

Impact Allen failed to eclipse 50 rushing yards for the first time since Week 1. The 5-foot-11 junior still got close to his average number of rushing attempts, but it didn't matter much as the Nittany Lions' offense failed to gain traction against the Buckeyes. Allen averaged 16.5 carries for 80.5 yards and 1.0 touchdown per game across Penn State's first four Big Ten matchups. His production should return to this level over the final four games, starting with next week's home contest versus Washington.

Impact Allen logged a rushing touchdown for the fourth game in a row despite logging fewer carries than any other game during this stretch. The junior running back salted away this win with a 24-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter. Allen still logged fewer carries than fellow running back Nicholas Singleton (12), as the latter has typically been the slight favorite out of the backfield when both are healthy. Through four Big Ten games, Allen has averaged 16.5 rushing attempts for 80.5 yards. Starting quarterback Drew Allar was also ruled out with a leg injury suffered just before the end of the first half, and the Nittany Lions seemed to employ more of a ground-and-pound offensive gameplan with Beau Pribula in at quarterback for the entire second half. Allen and Singleton may have to shoulder bigger workloads if Allar is sidelined for next week's marquee matchup versus No. 4 Ohio State.

Leads rushing attack Week 7 Allen notched 16 carries for 56 yards and one touchdown and hauled in their only target for nine yards during Saturday's 33-30 overtime win versus USC.

Impact Allen logged at least 16 carries and scored a rushing touchdown for the third game in a row. The 220-pound junior logged a one-yard rushing score in the first quarter, and he once again logged a team-high in carries despite the return of star running back Nicholas Singleton, who logged 11 rushing attempts after missing last week's win with an illness. The Nittany Lions has been far from perfect still this season, but Allen has still been a consitent piece for new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki with 90 carries for 423 rushing yards through six games. His next chance to keep toting the rock will come in another road game versus Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Impact Allen stepped up into a bigger role with fellow junior and star running back Nicholas Singlton sidelined by a last-minute illness Saturday. The 5-foot-11 junior finished with a season-high in carries, and he logged just his second rushing touchdown of the season when he scored form one yard out late in the third quarter. Allen averaged 13.3 carries over the first four games of the season, and he's likely to see closer to this many attempts with Singleton expected to return to action next week at USC.

Impact Allen found the end zone for the first time this season with a five-yard score late in the fourth quarter. This capped off his most productive performance of the year, as he also logged season-highs in carries and rushing yards. He also tallied more rushing attempts than dynamic running back Nicholas Singleton, who rushed 16 times for 94 yards and a touchdown of his own. Singleton has looked like the better running back so far this season, though Allen continues to split carries with him. This could be a productive 1-2 duo so long as the Nittany Lions employ a run-heavy game plan, as quarterback Drew Allar attempted just 21 passes compared to 43 team rushing attempts. Allen should remain a significant part of the ground game this coming Saturday's home game against UCLA.

Impact Allen once again split duties out of the backfield with fellow junior Nicholas Singleton, who logged 11 rushes for 81 yards. However, the latter running back also caught two passes, including a 17-yard touchdown on a simple dump-off pass from tight end Tyler Warren in the second quarter. Allen has been a consistent piece under new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. Yet, he's still not getting an even share of the touchdown opportunities, having scored just once on a 20-yard reception Week 1. Unless he gets more involved as a scorer, Allen's going to be more boom-or-bust than surefire starter for fantasy owners.

Impact Allen logged double-digit carries for the second game in a row. After gaining just 20 yards against West Virginia last week, the junior running back found much more success as the Nittany Lions made an explosive comeback during the second half against Bowling Green. Allen has continued to split carries with another highly-talented running back, Nicholas Singleton, who tallied 13 carries for 119 yards and touchdown Week 2. While neither is likely to get a big workload this season, Allar and Singleton could stand to be one of the most productive duos in college football if Penn State's offense can look more like explosive unit that took the field Week 1. Their next opportunity to break out will come versus Kent State on Saturday, Sept. 21.
