Impact For 2025, Layne transferred colleges from Idaho to New Mexico for his first season of FBS football. To go with four rushing touchdowns, he logged 213 completed passes for 2,486 yards and 13 TDs. However, Layne barely completed more than 65.0 percent of 327 pass attempts for a 13-10 TD-INT ratio, significantly worse than the 14-4 he logged during Idaho's 2024 season.
