Impact Saturday marked McKinney's first missed game of the season as the redshirt freshman was held out with an undisclosed injury. The 5-foot-9 running back had run for 479 yards and three touchdowns through 11 games this season prior to Saturday and will hope to make his return in the Bearkats' upcoming bowl game.

Finds end zone McKinney ran 12 times for 29 yards against FIU on Tuesday.

Impact McKinney has had one big game this year, and it was against UTEP's poor run defense. While he found the end zone Tuesday, 2.4 yards per carry is not exciting.

OCTOBER 23 • ROTOWIRE

Big day against UTEP McKinney ran 14 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns against UTEP on Thursday. He also caught three passes for 28 yards.

Impact The redshirt freshman has been getting more touches and looks by the week, but this is his pinnacle. It's McKinney's first game with over 100 yards, and also his first finding the end zone. That can't hurt when it comes to earning more action going forward. For a freshman, McKinney hasn't looked overmatched.

OCTOBER 4 • ROTOWIRE

Rushes for over 50 yards again McKinney ran nine times for 55 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards against Texas State on Saturday.

Impact The redshirt freshman has emerged as the number-two back for Sam Houston, but that makes him the number-three option with quarterback Hunter Watson in the mix as well. That being said, McKinney has run for over 50 yards in each of his last two games.

Rushes for 58 yards McKinney ran 10 times for 58 yards versus NMSU on Saturday.

Impact He's been on the periphery, but the redshirt freshman McKinney has been involved every week. The Tulsa native now has 34 carries and has averaged 4.6 yards per rush. That's not remarkable, but he may be earning his way into a larger role.
