Impact Kaliakmanis threw fewer than 30 passes for the first time since Week 5 versus Washington, as the Scarlet Knights pounded the ball behind bell-cow back Kyle Monangai's 32 carries. Rutgers finished with its most points since Week 2 against Akron, but three of the team's four touchdowns came on the ground in Week 14. Kaliakmanis threw his 17th passing touchdown of the season with a nine-yard hookup to wideout Ian Strong in the third quarter. The senior signal-caller finished his first regular season at Rutgers with career-highs in passing yards (2,459), rushing yards (233) and total touchdowns (20). The 7-5 Scarlet Knights will await to hear their bowl destination this coming postseason.

Impact Kaliakmanis put together his best rushing performance of the season with highs in carries and yards. The 6-foot-3 senior also scored just his second and third rushing touchdowns of the season, as he had the rare honor of scoring two red-zone touchdowns rather than the team's bell-cow back Kyle Monangai. Kaliakmanis was thus responsible for all four of his team's touchdowns, and he did more than enough to win the game. But, the Scarlet Knights fell late due to an improbable, last-second 40-yard touchdown for the Fighting Illini. Kaliakmanis has now totaled eight touchdowns to two turnovers over the last four games, and he'll look to finish the season strong next week versus Michigan State.

Kaliakmanis has not been asked to do much more than be a game manager when Rutgers' offense has been on track, but he's now averaged 280.0 passing yards per game over the last three games. Kaliakmanis surely would not have attempted this many passes if the Scarlet Knights weren't forced to play catch up for almost the entire game. Expect him to regress back to his paltry mean when Rutgers next plays Week 11 against his former team Minnesota.

Impact Kaliakmanis completed at least 60 percent of his passes and averaged over 5.0 yards per attempt for the first time since Week 4. He also got the Scarlet Knights on the board with a one-yard touchdown sneak in the first quarter. However, as per usual, he lost most of his red-zone scoring opportunities to bell-cow running back Kyle Monangai, who ran in for touchdowns of six, five and one yards. Kaliakmanis has now totaled three touchdowns over the last five weeks. He'll look to score either on the ground or through the air during next week's road game at USC.

His complete lack of proficiency as a passer has also begun to hold bac what was previously a dominant rushing game with star running back Kyle Monangai. Kaliakmanis will simply look to provide soom complementary offense during next week's home game against UCLA.

The Minnesota transer was sacked four times and did not score a touchdown until the final five minutes of the game when he hit Ben Black for an 11-yard passing score. His final stat line could have been much better if Black had also hauled in a deep pass that likely would have resulted in a touchdown, but the ball bounced off Black's helmet for a back-breaking incompletion. Kaliakmanis has scored just twice while completing 52.3 percent of his passes since Week 2. He'll look to clean it up for this coming Saturday's home game against a 3-2 Wisconsin squad.
