Won't play Thursday
Whaley (rest) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Michigan State, Alexa Philippou of the Hartford Courant reports.
Impact
Whaley fainted following Wednesday's double overtime win over Auburn. While he's believed to be fine following the incident, he'll get at least one day of rest before returning to the court. Tyler Polley and Akok Akok should see increased run against the Spartans.

Fine after fainting
Whaley is okay after fainting following Wednesday's game against Auburn.
Impact
Whaley played 43 minutes in the contest and fainted after standing up. Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be anything serious and he should be ready for next Tuesday's game versus Maryland-Eastern Shore. The senior finished with two points, seven boards, four blocks and four assists.

Limited to 13 minutes
Whaley (ankle) recorded just two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3PT), five rebounds and two blocks over 13 minutes Wednesday versus LIU-Brooklyn.
Impact
Whaley saw half of the minutes Wednesday that he saw against Coppin State in the previous contest, likely due to both the ankle issue he had coming into the contest and the fact that the game was a blowout. There hasn't been word of any sort of setback, so the senior figures to continue being heavily involved in the rotation moving forward.

In starting five
Whaley (ankle) will start Wednesday's game against LIU-Brooklyn, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
Whaley was deemed a game-time decision leading up to the contest but will indeed get the start, suggesting he should be headed toward his normal allotment of work. Through two games, the senior is averaging 5.0 points, 3.0 assists, 2.0 rebounds, a block and a steal over 24.5 minutes per game.

Taking part in warmups
Whaley (ankle) is moving well in pregame warmups ahead of Wednesday's clash with LIU-Brooklyn, Gavin Keefe of The Day reports.
Impact
Whaley is officially a game-time decision, so his presence in warmups is at least a good sign. It remains to be seen if he'll be in uniform when the game gets closer, but the starting lineup should tell a better story about the level of his availability even if he seems to be ready to go.

Will be a game-time decision
Whaley (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against LIU-Brooklyn, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
Whaley banged up his ankle near the end of last week's game against Coppin State. If he is unable to go Wednesday, hopefully he can be back Saturday against Binghamton.

Suffers minor sprain
Whaley ended with two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound, four assists and two steals across 26 minutes during Saturday's 89-54 victory over Coppin State.
Impact
According to Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic, Whaley suffered a foot sprain in this contest, but it was described by head coach Dan Hurley as "moderate." It doesn't seem like something that is going to be a problem moving forward, but it at least explains the limited minutes late, especially given the blowout nature of the contest. Fellow forwards Adama Sanogo (20 points) and Akok Akok (12 points) seemed to pick up their scoring a bit as a result.

Will play through hip issue
Whaley is dealing with a minor hip injury but will play Saturday against Georgetown, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
Whaley is coming off of a 17-point, 10-board double-double against Seton Hall and should be in line for a hefty workload again Saturday as long as his hip holds up. The senior forward is averaging 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest on the season.

Leads team against Seton Hall
Whaley had a team-high 17 points (8-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt) to go along with 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 33 minutes in Wednesday's 69-58 victory over Seton Hall.
Impact
Whaley had been reported to be dealing with ankle trouble in mid-February, and potentially as a result, has been averaging just 21.3 mpg over his last four contests. He logged his highest minutes total since the start of February in this one, however, as the senior's post presence was ultimately needed in the absence of Josh Carlton (ankle). Whaley now has four double-doubles on the year, with season-long averages of 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds -- both career highs.

Solid line despite possible injury
Whaley had 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, five blocks and four assists across 32 minutes in Saturday's 80-72 victory over Xavier.
Impact
Whaley had apparently been dealing with an ankle injury, but that didn't stop the senior from picking up his second double-double of Big East play, as well as producing one of his better overall stat lines of the season. The 6-9 forward has been a hidden gem in rotisserie formats this season, as his 2.9 bpg average leads the entire Big East.
