Adama Sanogo scores 26, No. 18 UConn beats DePaul 75-68

Adama Sanogo scored a game-high 26 points as No. 18 UConn beat DePaul 75-68 in the regular season finale for both teams
MARCH 6, 2022 • Associated Press
Vanishes in loss Whaley notched three points (1-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and two rebounds across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 64-62 loss to Creighton.
Impact In games where Whaley has seen 30-plus minutes, the defensively-oriented senior failed to exceed five points for the fifth time. Typically a more well-rounded contributor in the box score, Whaley will look to bounce back Saturday against DePaul in his regular-season finale and throughout the Big East Tournament.

In starting lineup Whaley (wrist) is among the starters for Saturday's game against Villanova.
Impact Whaley had his wrist taped during warmups, so it will be worth monitoring if he shows any signs of a struggle shooting the ball. Regardless, there is no indication he's expected to be limited because of the issue and he's in his usual spot with the starting unit.
FEBRUARY 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Wrist is taped up Whaley was seen with his wrist taped up prior to the game versus Villanova on Saturday, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact Whaley is coming off a career-high and is most likely going to play in the game but with his wrist taped up it is fair to wonder if he will be as effective as he was in the game versus Creighton. There's no indication he's limited because of the wrist issue but it could impact his abilities with the off hand.

Career-high 20 points Whaley chipped in 20 points (8-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt), six rebounds and four blocks in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 59-55 loss to Creighton.
Impact Whaley revealed his beautiful three-point shot in Tuesday's loss and recorded a career-high for points and three-point makes. His defense wasn't lacking in any capacity, recording a four-game high four blocks. This career-nigh came off the back of his arguably least productive game of the season against DePaul on Saturday where he tallied two points and committed four turnovers. Rising from the ashes, the senior is a phoenix who will look to continue scorching opponents with newfound offensive production, beginning with Villanova on Saturday.

Double-double in win Whaley closed Thursday's 75-56 win over Butler with 11 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds and one block in 22 minutes.
Impact Whaley recorded his first double-double of the season in UCONN's second victory over Butler this week. In the first meeting with Butler, Whaley was held to no points, no rebounds and was called for three fouls. This was a major bounce-back performance. The senior has averaged 5.3 points, four rebounds and 2.3 blocks during 22.8 minutes over the last four games.

Not in starting five Whaley isn't among the starters for Saturday's game against Seton Hall, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact Ostrout mention earlier in the day that some players may be on a minutes restriction, so Whaley's exclusion from the starting lineup would seem to suggest he's one of them. The senior big man had started all 12 of the games he's appeared in prior to Saturday, averaging 27.8 minutes per contest. He's likely in line for a lighter workload than that in what figures to be a tough game.

Sniffs double-double in win Whaley notched 12 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-7 FT), eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 26 minutes during Saturday's 88-59 victory over Grambling State.
Impact Whaley was just short of recording his first double-double since last March. He was one of five UCONN players to record double-digit points on the night in a solid team victory. In his last three starts since his return, the senior has averaged 12 points and 6.3 rebounds during 31 minutes played.

Scores 16 in return Whaley posted 16 points (6-10 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 70-63 OT victory over VCU.
Impact Whaley was given the last game off following a scary episode in which he fainted during the prior contest, but he was back in the starting five and helped lead the Huskies to an OT victory and third-place finish in the Battle 4 Atlantis. UConn will jump right back into action Tuesday against Maryland-Eastern Shore, and Whaley shouldn't be facing any limitations in advance of that contest.

Impact Whaley was considered a game-time decision and will return to the court after missing one game. He fainted at the conclusion of Wednesday's double-OT win over Auburn and sat out Thursday's loss to Michigan State, but he'll quickly rejoin the Huskies' lineup.
NOVEMBER 26, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Going through warmups Whaley (fatigue) is participating in warmups for Friday's game against VCU, Alexa Philippou of the Hartford Courant reports.
Impact Whaley is a game-time decision after sitting out Thursday's loss to Michigan State due to fatigue, and his participation in warmups is a good sign for his availability. He fainted at the conclusion of Wednesday's double-OT win over Auburn but was deemed fine after being evaluated, and he may be back on the court Friday.

Game-time call Friday Whaley (fatigue) will be a game-time decision for Friday's game against VCU, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
