APRIL 4, 2024 • 247SPORTS.COM
On the move again Askew (foot) has entered the transfer portal, Joe Tipton of On3.com reports.
Impact Askew was limited to just six games this past season due to a foot injury. Askew has struggled with injuries in his two seasons at Cal. He was a very highly rated recruit coming out of high school where he signed with Kentucky and averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 assists per contest. Askew then spent one season at Texas where he struggled to find the floor. He will now seek a fourth different school and look to stay healthy to put together the kind of season he is capable of.
MARCH 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Out for remainder of season Askew (foot) is out for the remainder of California's 2023-24 season, according to Jim McGill of Bear Insider.
Impact Askew injured his foot, the same one that cost him seven games between November and December. The latest injury is much worse though, as he believes a medical redshirt can be rewarded. Regardless of whether or not Askew receives it, his 2023-24 season ended at just six games. He averaged 6.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists across the six-matchup span.
JANUARY 10, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet despite large role Askew finished with five points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Friday's 100-81 loss to Arizona.
Impact In his second game back following a seven-game absence due to a foot injury, Askew returned to a normal workload but left with little to show for it. That being said, his five assists were an encouraging figure and he appears to be at full health moving forward.
DECEMBER 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Available vs. UC San Diego Askew (foot) is available for California's game Wednesday against UC San Diego, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Askew will log his first game since Nov. 13. Though the senior will not be part of California's starting lineup Wednesday, he is expected to cross that threshold sooner rather than later.
DECEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out vs. Mississippi Askew (foot) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Mississippi, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Askew will miss his seventh consecutive game of the season, as he works his way back form a foot injury. The senior guard's next chance to step into the court will be against UCSD on Dec. 20.

DECEMBER 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Out against Stanford Askew (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game against Stanford, Rob Hwang of Write for California reports.
Impact Askew missed five games due to a foot injury, but returned to play Jan. 22 against Oregon State. It's unclear why he's sidelined for Saturday's Pac-12 showdown, but it could be a strategy to manage his workload. Dejuan Clayton is likely to take over as the team's starting point guard.
JANUARY 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Big minutes in return Askew ended Sunday's 68-48 loss to Oregon State with eight points (2-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, seven assists and two steals over 33 minutes.
Impact While the shooting performance wasn't anything to write home about, that was the case for the entire Cal offense despite getting 33 minutes from their leading scorer in his return from a five-game absence due to a foot injury. Askew at least did log seven dimes for fantasy managers, but the scoring may be a bit tougher to come by now that the Golden Bears are in the heat of conference play.

JANUARY 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out once again Askew (foot) will remain out as California hosts Oregon on Wednesday night, per Rob Hwang of Write For California.
Impact Askew's junior year has been a breakout season for the point guard, but it's also been marred by injury. Wednesday's tilt with Oregon will be Askew's eighth missed game. When healthy, he's been a dynamic scorer, logging 16.1 points across 31.5 minutes. His next shot to play will come against Oregon State on Sunday.
JANUARY 18, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Impact Askew will miss his third straight game and his fourth over the last five. A target date for a potential return remains up in the air. Dejuan Clayton should continue to get the start in Askew's absence as the team looks to go for three in a row in conference play Wednesday.

DECEMBER 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Available Thursday Askew (foot) will be available for Thursday's game versus Utah, Rob Hwang of Write for California reports.
Impact Askew was forced to sit out the last time Cal took the floor but will be able to return after just a one-game absence. Although it hasn't been announced, it should be expected that he will immediately return to his usual spot in the starting lineup ahead of the team's conference opener.
