Impact

Shon Abaev - Questionable to play Tuesday
Abaev (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Texas Tech.
Impact
Abaev hasn't played in the last seven games for Cincinnati. By now, it's unclear if he'll return to the hardwood before the end of the regular season, but the questionable tag at least leaves the door open for that possibility.

Jizzle James - Can't get going in win
James recorded five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one steal across 19 minutes during Saturday's 84-68 victory over Kansas.
Impact
While the Bearcats absolutely dominated the Jayhawks in the weekend matchup, James couldn't quite get going when it was all said and done. The junior guard logged his worst field-goal percentage since Jan. 21, and he also couldn't get hot from beyond the arc. He'll look to bounce back this Tuesday at Texas Tech.

Baba Miller - Shows off diversified arsenal
Miller accumulated 18 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 39 minutes during Saturday's 84-68 win over Kansas.
Impact
Miller continues to show off a diverse offensive skillset, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor and a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, scoring 18 points while also dishing out a season-high eight assists during Cincinnati's impressive win in Lawrence. Miller also added seven boards and two steals but it's his recent work as a ball distributor that has helped Cincinnati to a four-game winning streak. The passing element is not completely out of nowhere as the 6-foot-11 senior had an 11-assist performance last season but he's experienced his best continued success in that category over the past four games, averaging 5.8 assists during that stretch to go along with 16.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks while connecting on 57.1-percent of his shot attempts and connecting on 62.5-percent from deep.

Moustapha Thiam - Pours in career-high 28 points
Thiam finished Saturday's 84-68 win over Kansas with 28 points (11-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), eight rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes.
Impact
Thiam went off for a career-high 28 points as the Bearcats rolled to their seventh and most impressive conference win by taking down the Jayhawks in Lawrence. The 7-foot-2 sophomore, who also added eight boards, showed off more than an ability to dominate the paint as he connected on a season-best two triples while also hoisting up a season-high five shots from beyond the arc. Thiam had played limited minutes against Houston on Jan 31, then went on to miss two of three for undisclosed reasons, but otherwise is playing his best basketball of the season. In the last three games in which he has played, Thiam is averaging 19.3 points, 8.3 boards and 1.7 blocks.

Shon Abaev - Officially out at KU
Abaev (ankle) is out for Saturday's game at Kansas.
Impact
Abaev will be sidelined for yet another game as he works back from an ankle injury. The freshman guard's next shot to see the court will be this upcoming Tuesday at Texas Tech. He's averaged eight points and three rebounds per game for Cincinnati in 20 games this season.

Shon Abaev - Doubtful to play Saturday
Abaev (ankle) is doubtful for Saturday's game against Kansas.
Impact
Abaev is hopeful to return to the hardwood this season, and the doubtful tag gives him a chance to do so Saturday. He hasn't played since Jan. 24, but if he does, he's likely to play off the bench -- as he has most of the season and exclusively since Dec. 29.

Kerr Kriisa - Cleared to return
Kriisa (shoulder) will be available for Saturday's game against Kansas, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Kriisa, who has missed the Bearcats last three games with a shoulder injury, will make his return to action against the Jayhawks this Saturday. The 6-foot-3 senior transfer from Kentucky (previously WVU and Arizona), is averaging 5.8 points, 1.3 rebounds, and three assists across 19 games (12 starts). Kriisa and the Bearcats will face a tough road test this weekend against KU.

Day Day Thomas - Scoring starting to pick up
Thomas racked up 16 points (5-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two assists, two blocks and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 69-65 win over Utah.
Impact
Thomas' 16 points led the way for the Bearcats and were the most he's scored since tallying 19 against Iowa State on Jan 17. In the seven games since that performance, Thomas had been averaging just 6.6 points per contest, though Saturday's performance represented his third-straight reaching double figures. Despite his decreased production on the scoreboard, Thomas does continue to help in other areas, averaging 3.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals to go along with 9.3 points across 13 games since the start of conference play.

Tyler McKinley - Not part of starting lineup
McKinley is not part of the Bearcats' starting lineup for their upcoming game Sunday against Utah.

Kerr Kriisa - Out vs. Utah
Kriisa (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game against Utah, according to Neil Meyer of The Front Office News.
Impact
A shoulder injury explains why Kriisa will be out another game. The senior has struggled in conference action this season, averaging 1.8 points while shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from behind the three-point arc. Unfortunately for Kriisa, his shoulder injury comes at a time when Cincinnati's team will host the Big 12 Conference's last-place team going into Sunday.

Moustapha Thiam - Available vs. Utah
Thiam (undisclosed) is available for Sunday's game against Utah.
Impact
Once again, Thiam is no longer part of Cincinnati's availability report, indicating that he will be available against Utah. In the 2025-26 Bearcats' conference games, he has averaged 11.2 points. The center stepped up upon returning from his previous absence by logging 15 points and seven rebounds during last Sunday's game between Cincinnati and Central Florida. Thiam will look to do so again against the Big 12 Conference's last-place team in Utah.
