Gonzalo Tapia's goal and assist in the 2nd half helps the Crew beat the Rapids 3-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Santiago Rodriguez scored in the first half, Gonzalo Tapia had a goal and an assist after the break, and the Columbus Crew beat the Colorado Rapids 3-0 on Saturday night.

Columbus (6-12-5) snapped a four-game losing streak following a 2-1 win over FC Cincinnati to close out July and a 2-2 draw with Inter Miami to start August.

Colorado (10-12-1) dropped to 2-9-1 on the road this season.

Rodriguez used his head to score unassisted in the 22nd minute. Tapia curled in a shot with the outside of his foot in the 82nd, and he found Taha Habroune wide open on a counterattack to cap the scoring in stoppage time.

Patrick Schulte totaled two saves for Columbus to record his fourth clean sheet of the season in 23 starts.

Adam Beaudry stopped three shots in a second straight start for the 20-year-old and the fourth of his career after starting once in each of the two previous seasons.
