Tight ends Clay Cundiff and Jack Eschenbach have left Wisconsin's program
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin has opened preseason camp without tight ends Clay Cundiff and Jack Eschenbach, who both left the team during the offseason.
Neither player appeared on Wisconsin’s roster as the Badgers held their first workout Wednesday at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Cundiff suffered major injuries each of the last two seasons. He dislocated an ankle, broke his fibula and tore the deltoid ligament in his right leg in a 2021 victory over Iowa. Cundiff returned last year and caught two touchdown passes in an early-season loss to Washington State but was carted off the field with an injured left leg in a loss to Ohio State and didn’t play again.
Eschenbach caught 14 passes for 120 yards last season. He would have been using a sixth season of eligibility if he had played for Wisconsin this fall.
