Florida State RB Ousmane Kromah carted off field at Miami, his left leg placed in air cast
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Florida State running back Ousmane Kromah was carted off late in the first half of the Seminoles' game against No. 3 Miami on Saturday night, after suffering what appeared to be a serious left leg injury.
Kromah got hurt on a play that ended with 1:53 left in the second quarter, getting hurt on a 10-yard carry that got Florida State near the goal line. His left ankle appeared to buckle on the play as he continued to run, before getting tackled on the Miami side of the field.
He tried to make his way back across the field to the Florida State side, hopping on his right foot before eventually falling to the grass and quickly getting tended to by medical personnel. An air cast was placed over his left leg before he was helped onto a cart and driven away for further evaluation.
Kromah had team-highs of 14 carries and 44 rushing yards in the first half for the Seminoles. He has been Florida State's primary ballcarrier this season, with 114 rushes for 609 yards and five touchdowns.
Kromah, a sophomore, went over the 1,000-yard mark for his Florida State career on Saturday night as well.
