Montgomery scores 30, Kortright adds double-double as Rhode Island downs George Washington 88-65
WASHINGTON (AP) — Zek Montgomery scored 30 points, Luis Kortright had a double-double and Rhode Island beat George Washington 88-65 on Tuesday night.
Montgomery also added five rebounds for the Rams (11-12, 5-5 Atlantic 10 Conference). Jaden House added 23 points. Brandon Weston scored 12 points and Kortright finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
The Revolutionaries (14-8, 3-6) were led in scoring by Darren Buchanan Jr., who finished with 23 points and six rebounds. Maximus Edwards added 18 points and six rebounds for George Washington. In addition, James Bishop had nine points and five assists.
Montgomery scored 11 points in the first half and Rhode Island went into the break trailing 37-35.
