Brown scores 18, South Carolina State knocks off Delaware State 69-62
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Raquan Brown had 18 points in South Carolina State's 69-62 victory over Delaware State on Saturday night.
Brown was 6 of 12 shooting, including 4 for 7 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 3 from the line for the Bulldogs (11-16, 6-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Caleb McCarty scored 12 points while going 5 of 6 and 2 of 4 from the free throw line, and added six rebounds. Wilson Dubinsky had eight points and was 3 of 6 shooting (2 for 5 from 3-point range).
Martez Robinson led the way for the Hornets (12-14, 5-5) with 16 points and six rebounds. Deywilk Tavarez added 14 points, four assists and four steals for Delaware State. Jevin Muniz also had 10 points and two steals.
Both teams next play Monday. South Carolina State hosts Maryland-Eastern Shore and Delaware State goes on the road to play North Carolina Central.
