Bankston scores 23, Norfolk State tops Morgan State 72-50

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Kris Bankston scored 23 points and Norfolk State beat Morgan State 72-50 on Saturday.

Bankston added nine rebounds and five blocks for the Spartans (19-7, 8-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who have won six straight. Joe Bryant Jr. pitched in with 13 points and four steals. Caheim Brown scored 12.

Will Thomas led the Bears (12-14, 5-6) with 14 points and two steals. Kameron Hobbs had 12 points and two steals, while Daiquan Copeland added 10 points and six rebounds.

NEXT UP

These two teams both play Monday. Norfolk State hosts Coppin State, while Morgan State hosts Howard.
