Referees break up several skirmishes between the Predators and Coyotes during the second period of Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The Predators made their way back into the series with a 2-0 win Wednesday night, but they still trail the Coytoes 2-1 overall.
Laying it on the line
Unfortunately, the full body block didn't work here, as Phoenix goalie Mike Smith allows a goal by David Legwand in Nashville's 2-0 Game 3 win over the Coyotes.
Nod to the home folk
The entire Predators team raises their sticks in victory after their 2-0 home win over the Phoenix Coyotes in Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena. It was Nashville's first win of the seven-game series thus far.
This is gonna be easy
The Predators get on the scoreboard early Wednesday night, thanks to a goal here by center David Legwand (left), who gave his team a 1-0 first-period lead. Nashville would not look back, winning at home 2-0 to cut the Coyotes' series lead in half heading into Game 4.

Capitals goalie Braden Holtby can't make his 48th save of the night deep in the third overtime, as this game-winning goal is scored by the Rangers' Marian Gaborik a mere 114 minutes and 41 seconds into Game 3. The Rangers won the game 2-1 to take a 2-1 series lead.
Not getting past him tonight
Capitals center Brooks Laich gets tripped up in front of Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist during Game 3 action at the Verizon Center in D.C. Lundqvist held the Caps to one goal through nearly six periods of play in New York's 2-1 win in triple overtime.
Ryan Callahan scores New York's lone goal in regulation against Capitals goalie Braden Holtby, this one coming in the second period of Game 3. Holtby went nearly three more full periods before allowing goal No. 2, but that was the game-winner for the Rangers in the third OT.

Rangers left wing Carl Hagelin skates past Matt Hendricks, who was checked into the boards during the first period of Game 3.
