Impact Pederson entered the game as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and belted a solo home run. It was just the second home run and third extra-base hit over 27 games this season for Pederson. He'll continue to serve as the designated hitter against right-handers, but the Rangers should be open to replacement options. Since signing with Texas in 2024, Pederson has slashed .192/.301/.633 OPS with 11 home runs over 123 games.

It was the first time the right-hander gave up more than two homers in a game this season, and it snapped a string of two straight homerless outings by Leiter. Impact Though he looked to be a candidate to move into a full-time role after Wyatt Langford (forearm) was placed on the injured list Wednesday, Duran has started in just one of the Rangers' ensuing three matchups versus right-handed pitching. Duran will be back in the lineup Monday while southpaw Max Fried takes the hill for New York, but the Rangers appear set to prioritize the left-handed-hitting Alejeandro Osuna over him in the corner outfield when the team faces righties.
