Twente punish PSV to go top
Nacer Chadli scored the only goal of the game at Philips Stadion after 60 minutes to move Twente a point ahead of their rivals. It was PSV's first league defeat of the campaign and came just a week after they thrashed Feyenoord 10-0. Ajax joined PSV in a tie for second place after they thrashed Heracles Almelo 4-1. The match had been level at half-time after Willy Overtoom cancelled out Mounir El Hamdaoui's opener. But second-half goals from Rasmus Lindgren, Andre Ooijer and substitute Miralem Sulejmani sealed Ajax's win. Fourth-placed FC Groningen also enjoyed a thumping success as they beat VVV-Venlo 5-3. Groningen did need three goals in 19 second-half minutes, however, to seal the contest after they had twice seen leads pegged back. Tim Matavz and Gonzalo Garcia saw their efforts cancelled out by Balazs Toth and an Achmed Ahahaoui penalty. A Ferry de Regt own goal sent the visitors back ahead before Matavz got his second and Koen Van de Laak netted his side's fifth. Michael Uchebo scored a late consolation for VVV. Late goals from Bas Dost and Oussama Assaidi handed Heerenveen a 2-0 win at Excelsior while NAC Breda won by the same margin at home to De Graafschap. Rob Penders and Donny Gorter scored the goals for NAC.
