Twins' Nunez is a road warrior

The Minnesota Twins take to the road this weekend and no player might be happier about it than Eduardo Nunez.

Not that Nunez isn't a fan of Minneapolis or Target Field, but few players are batting as well as he is away from home.

And it isn't as though Nunez has padded his stats in hitter's ballparks. He is 6 for 12 (.500) in Los Angeles, 3 for 7 (.429) in Houston, 5 for 12 (.417) in Washington, 8 for 20 in Kansas City (.400) and 6 for 17 in Detroit (.353).

While Seattle has a good pitching staff, the Mariners haven't done as well at home. At Safeco Field they are just 10-11 (compared to 18-7 on the road), with a 3.64 ERA. In addition, Seattle is batting only .238 at home with a run differential of just plus-1.

Other notes:

-- The Twins are 10-7 this season when scoring at least five runs in a game.

-- Minnesota has the third-lowest first-swing percentage (22.8 percent) in the major leagues. Only the Mets (22.2) and Red Sox (22.6) are lower.

-- Seattle's Robinson Cano is one of just four players to lead his team in batting average, home runs and RBI, joining the Mets' Yoenis Cespedes, San Francisco's Hunter Pence and the Angels' Mike Trout. Cano is batting .295 with 14 homers and 43 RBI.

-- Mariners starter Felix Hernandez has a 1.93 ERA all-time against Minnesota, the lowest of any pitcher vs. the Twins in history (min. 15 starts). He is also first in opponent batting average (.190) and home runs per nine innings (0.22).

-- Minnesota's Joe Mauer, however, is a career .341 hitter (14 for 41) against Hernandez, which is the fifth-highest batting average against King Felix (min. 40 plate appearances).
