Three former Badgers invited to NFL Combine

The NFL has invited three former University of Wisconsin football players to its scouting combine later this month.
Offensive tackle Tyler Marz, outside linebacker Joe Schobert and quarterback Joel Stave will attend the annual event, which the NFL will hosts from Feb. 23-29 in Indianapolis. The NFL Network will broadcast the event.
The combine is an opportunity for college players to boost their NFL Draft stock. Executives and coaches from all 32 NFL teams attend the event to evaluate the prospects' physical abilities and interview them.
The league invites more than 300 of the top college football players each year.
Marz was a two-year starter at left tackle for the Badgers. Schobert, a native of Waukesha, Wis., played in 45 games in four years, recording 172 tackles, including 79 this past season. A former walk-on, Schobert was a first-team All-America selection in 2015.
Stave threw 48 touchdown passes in 44 games with the Badgers, including 22 as a sophomore. The Greenfield, Wis., native threw for 11 touchdowns as a senior.
