Russell Westbrook spends a day working at Subway

Russell Westbrook is still recovering from a knee injury.

In the meantime, the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar is making sandwiches.

Westbrook announced this week that he is joining Michael Phelps, Robert Griffin III, Michael Strahan and other athletes as the newest pitchman for Subway.

Instead of doing work on the court on Wednesday, Westbrook was behind the counter in California making subs with long-time Subway spokesman, Jared Fogle.

Westbrook underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in December and is expected to return to the court after the NBA All-Star break.

The Thunder have done just fine during his absence with the best record in the Western Conference. So maybe he can continue to rest and work on his sub skills until the playoffs.
